Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a great day! I have a question to ask, would you be able to write a quick review for me? Something simple and quick, a mention of what services you were seeking when we met, why you decided to work with me, and why you continue to. I will very much appreciate the feedback on Google, and of course right here on Facebook. All the best, health and love,... Karolina Cimoch

Today, during our second day of joint meetings between the Transitional Council for the College of Massage Therapists of Alberta, and the four Massage Therapist... Associations in the province we were excited to hear the announcement of a pending limited return of Massage Therapy by Health Minister Shandro (https://youtu.be/_vctftbhQ1A). We are waiting to hear specific details from the province and will be providing those to our members as they become available. We are pleased to announce that today we have finalized a joint draft COVID-19 Pandemic Practice Guidelines, Protocols and Best Practices for Massage Therapists in Alberta that will go back to the Canadian Massage and Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association (CMMOTA), the Certified Registered Massage Therapist Association (CRMTA), the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta (MTAA), and the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada Association (NHPC) for Board approvals and will be released as quickly as possible. These jointly developed protocols will ensure that all Alberta Health Services and Association guidelines and policies are followed by all members in good standing with one of these Associations. This will ensure the protection of the public and provide clarity for our fellow health care professionals. We thank all those who have spent time over the past weeks advocating on behalf of the massage therapy profession. We hope that the collective advocacy will move the Government of Alberta towards regulating our profession. We will continue to advocate collectively to have the province allow the full return of Massage Therapy practice and to bring regulation to fruition. All associations are experiencing a high volume of calls, emails, and inquiries. We would appreciate your patience and understanding as it will take time to respond. Please refrain from contacting our offices for information as we will release information as soon as it becomes available. Wishing you continued Health and Safety.

A key factor in injury prevention is proper anatomical alignment. To maintain good and pain free movement, our skeletal and soft tissue systems must follow a specific alignment pattern. This alingment of bones to ligament, to tendon, to muscle and fascia tissue during movement will keep you injury free, or you'll end up getting hurt. Learning this alingment pattern takes time, but it's something that is important to know, if you want to live a high quality life.

Hi everyone! Happy long weekend :) Hope you're all getting some much deserved rest. I wanted to give you some background information about Unified Wellness. I've gotten some inquiries about what exactly we offer, and want to provide a clear picture of our company. "Unified Wellness began in 2016. The concept of Unified Wellness grew from both work and life experience, an interest in healthcare, and a desire to educate. It was the result of many years of trial, error, and sys...tematic planning. After completing multiple Diplomas in Physical Activity Coaching and Therapeutic Massage (Nait and MaKami), and continuing her education towards a Human Science degree at the University of Athabasca, Kari and her husband Chris started Unified Wellness to help the people in their community, Unified Wellness is dedicated to those looking to make changes in their life. Working as a team, the clinic owners endeavor to provide exceptional customer service. Building quality, supportive relationships with members, and providing them a safe space they can enjoy. One of the building blocks to establishing this relationship is the health history discussion. This discussion allows a glimpse of the members overall health. Including general lifestyle, acute/chronic issues, soft tissue/bone/nerve issues, medical complications, and most importantly personal goals. The clinic builds individualized plans for each service based on this discussion. Unified Wellness is a one stop shop to a better quality of life. Unified Wellness is the exclusive carrier of a complete long-term health care plan including assessment and treatment in Physical Activity Coaching and Therapeutic Massage. It is also one of a few carriers of education in injury prevention. The clinic is most known for their wholistic and realistic approach to managing long term health." So, please reach out with any questions you may have, we would love an opportunity to get to know, and work with you to achieve your lifestyle goals!

When individual muscle fibres become misaligned, they form trigger points. And trigger points lead to pressure points, which lead to body pain. Body pain is a s...ign of muscular dysfunction. Muscular dysfunction is a disturbance within soft tissues, and is caused by poor posture and improper biomechanics. Posture is the position in which the body is held. And biomechanics is stated as the muscular, joint and skeletal actions of the body during the execution of a given task, skill or technique. How you sit, stand, move and lay down matters! Movement patterns are directly connected to pain. No matter how small the movement may seem, the biomechanical force behind it will determine whether or not a pain response occurs. If it does, it’s because a muscle fibre has become misaligned, or a trigger/ pressure point has formed. To alleviate these points and get back to proper alignment, try Therapeutic Massage. A proven methodology for dealing with body pain. Call today to book your treatment. See more

Preventive Medicine consists of measures taken for disease prevention, as opposed to disease treatment. Just as health comprises a variety of physical and menta...l states, so do disease and disability, which are affected by environmental factors, genetic predisposition, disease agents, and lifestyle choices. Health, disease, and disability are dynamic processes which begin before individuals realize they are affected. See more

Back to basics. This is my interpretation of Therapeutic Massage. Firstly, let me give you some official definitions, as well as, my interpretations of these... words. The word Therapeutic from Webster’s medical dictionary is defined as: of, relating to, or used in the treatment of disease or disorders by remedial agents or methods; having a beneficial effect on the body or mind; producing a useful or favourable result or effect. That’s the official definition. My interpretation of therapeutic goes like this: A form of treatment performed on persons with the intent to facilitate bodily healing processes and restore homeostasis. The word Homeostasis is a state of stable equilibrium between the interdependent elements of an organism, especially as maintained by physiological processes. (Webster’s and Google definition). Meaning, that feeling of balance between body, mind, and environment we all search for. The official definition of massage is: Manipulation of tissues with hands for therapeutic purposes (Webster’s medical dictionary). As well, massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a persons health and well-being. (www.nwhealth.edu/school-of-mass/massage-therapy-definition/) So, therapeutic massage can be defined, (in my mind) as a modality designed facilitate body healing by manipulating soft tissues to restore homeostasis. Now, with that in mind, know this. Therapeutic does not mean more pressure. It is simply, a form of treatment designed to restore muscular balance. The amount of pressure varies person to person. And is adjusted person to person. Based on their own personal assessment prior to treatment. Specific points on the body may be more tender with pressure, but that does not mean they require deep pressure to be released. A good understanding of anatomy applied with manual manipulation of tissues (affected and surrounding) ensures effective release, without the added pain of deep pressure. Makes sense? Hopefully I’m not just rambling. Ask if you have questions, or better yet book an appointment. Im a licensed CRMTA member, actively practicing in Therapeutic Massage and general wellness. Hey guys, Happy Monday!! We are back, and sticking to a schedule! Krys and are tag- teaming our exercises and handing off baby with each set! It's the only way to get it done. Next workout Friday, NO MORE EXCUSES.

UnifiedWellness.Ltd 09.04.2020

Ok ladies, I commend you for everything you do!!! Because it is not easy!! Everytime I think I've found a routine, it changes. And as much as I dont want to get caught up in the excuses, I'm going to!! No workout for 3 weeks because life blew up and I'm just too lazy. Truth. I have been walking more, the weather has been lovely, but we all know that's not enough. And thankfully the eating has been solid. I'm back to the 80-20% clean eating. And I have adjusted portion sizes to account for the less activity. And water has been my saviour to kick the sugar craving. Definitely on the right track, just gotta get the butt in gear. This weekend new workout video!! And again ladies, you're all amazing. Mom life is tough, but at least we can relate to each other and support each other.

Caught red handed in the pantry sneaking chocolate. Pregnancy hormones at it's best!! October.2019.

UnifiedWellness.Ltd 16.03.2020

Going through the process of pregnancy was such an up and down rollercoaster of emotions and sensations. I was happy, sad, nauseated, tired, and energetic. In terms of nutrition, in the first half I was eating very well. Lots of fresh fruit and protein! It was great! But then towards the end, I gave in to the sweets. So much chocolate, cake and cookies! I wasn't even trying anymore because I was so uncomfortable all the time. And I for sure hit up a Macdonalds on more than on...e occasion. Those pancake Mcgriddle things are evil!!! But it made me feel better for a few short minutes, and told myself I'll deal with the consequences later. Haha! I know you ladies can relate. I dont like using the excuse of hormones, but they are a powerful thing, and sometimes theres nothing you can do except ride them out. So now, onto the next workout! Last week was strength, this week I'm going to throw in a HIIT. We'll see how this goes, I have a feeling it will be painful....sweat, blood and tears. Check back soon for another video! See more

Hello all, good morning! Had technical difficulties and had to start over! This is the official new page for Unified Wellness! Will be posting videos every week. Strength and conditioning, injury prevention and motivation. Join me as we finish up renovations, we will still workout in the madness of the unfinished basement, because we gotta get it done no matter what! And of course, as you know by now, post baby workouts! I will share before, during and after photos. Not going to lie, it's been a struggle to accept the fact that I have no control over my body right now. But I know I'll slowly get it back. Tomorrow, Friday February 14th is day 1! The day to start loving your body! Let's do this together
