Unifor unites with a growing movement around the world in acknowledging November 20 as the Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR). November 20 is a day of mourning, as... our union comes together to recognize those whose lives - overwhelmingly Black trans women and femmes - have been taken due to anti-trans violence. https://www.unifor.org//unifor-statement-trans-day-remembr See more
Important message from Unifor President Jerry Dias about December 06th and how members can participate. The registration below is open to all members and we encourage you to take part. Dear members,... We have witnessed an alarming worldwide increase in gender-based violence during this pandemic. Given this, events marking the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women will take on increased importance. On December 6th, the 31st anniversary of the Montreal Massacre, we will be holding an online vigil at 2 -3 pm Eastern Time. This will be a time to reflect together and to work to make change. After the vigil, we will be breaking into regional groups to work on political action to end gender-based violence with a particular focus on the final report of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Inquiry. Please join us by registering today https://www.unifor.org//national-day-remembrance-and-actio . Space is limited for this online event. Locals are encouraged to share this event with members, members of the Women’s Committee, and activists.
