COVID-19 UPDATE. We have good news and bad news. :... All staff are reporting negative except for one who is still waiting as he was tested on Monday . : We were planning on re-opening inside today but having read the current update from OPH we have decided to keep our interior closed for the near future. For how long? We cannot say at this time. Like you, we are untrained COVID experts and are new to navigating this situation. Having gone through a scare already we cannot in good conscience expose our staff again. This is not an easy decision. Our revenue situation is precarious at best, but we cannot allow that to be a mitigating factor when it comes to the health of our staff and any of our customers. : We will continue to do take away, Uber Eats and open our patio with our swanky propane heaters We love you all very much and look forward to seeing you on our patio or at our door grabbing some grub or cocktails to go. Be smart and be safe! Love, Union 613
COVID-19 Update. 95 percent of our staff are reporting negative. One of our Staff members was out of town and was unable to get tested until last Monday, so we are still waiting. The other had an issue with their health card and was told they would be contacted within a 72-hour window by phone if there was a positive. We are well beyond 96 hours now. At no time has any of our staff presented with any symptoms whatsoever (we are of course aware of potential asymptomatic carr...iers and transmission). As previously stated, it appears our bubble breach occurred during a window of zero exposure to staff and customers Tomorrow, Thursday October 1st, will be 14 days after any potential exposure. We will be back at the shop prepping for open @ 5pm on Friday. We thank everyone for their support in what has been a stressful and truly harrowing experience. We love you all very much. : I hope that we conducted ourselves in a diligent, ethical, and open manner using evidence and expert instruction to guide us. If this was not the case then the responsibility lies with me, Ivan Gedz, and no one else at Union. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions 613.231.1010 or 613.791.1550. Right or wrong I am more than happy to share any relevant information regarding what I have learned or my methodology. _ #UnionLocal613 #OttawaBars #OttawaLife
Yesterday Ivan was on CBC All in a Day with Alan Neal. Here's his segment, where he mentions the plumbing.
COVID-19 UPDATE. As of today: 75 percent of staff have received confirmation of negative results. The other 25 percent are waiting... Our staff were informed of potential exposure within 5 minutes of receiving information of potential exposure to a positive test and our doors have remained shut since then. Information was shared after consultation with OPH. To be clear, OPH did not mandate our decision to do so, but did suggest caution and discretion regarding the messaging due to our unique situation. The end of our potential exposure window will cease this Thursday meaning 14 days has passed since potential exposure. This suggests that our bubble breach occurred during a time of zero exposure to staff and customers, but we cannot be completely certain until Thursday and even then, nothing is concrete. With this in mind, any customers who wish to get tested would not be able to by OPH at this time as there would be no evidence of direct contact and therefore no 5+ days for potential incubation. No one is at the shop, including the staff who have tested negative, to ensure a full 14 days from potential exposure. We will NOT be contacting anyone on our tracing lists as OPH has emphatically stated we should not for obvious reasons. We are not healthcare professionals and do not have the expertise to disseminate that information in an appropriate and ethical manner. Our decisions are informed by the best professional advice received based on our unique situation and not whim, speculation, or the musings of the internet. If we receive any new information that we can share, we will provide it. Please read and follow guidelines on OPH website. If you have any questions or concerns: you are welcome to call Ivan at 613.791.1550 Much love and respect, Union Local 613 _ #UnionLocal613 #Coronavirus #MyOttawa
COVID-19 Update. We have received the following guidance from OPH and feel it prudent to share: We are unable to confirm if any of our customers have potentially been exposed to the virus. The individual that tested positive had not been in our establishment for over a week when the positive result came in.... All our staff have been tested and are currently isolating. The earliest time for any of us to return to work would be this Thursday which would be 14 days after potential exposure. Public health reaffirms that we should not be engaging in any form of contact with our contact tracing lists. That responsibility should only be handled by professionals. This can cause unnecessary panic and create further backlogs at testing centers. We will provide regular updates as we receive info and are advised by experts as to the appropriate course of action. Feel free to contact Ivan, at 613.791.1550 with any questions, however any information shared will be based on what OPH advises, so as not to be unethical or irresponsible. _ #Ottawa #UnionLocal613 #Coronavirus #MyOttawa
COVID-19 UPDATE. We are closed until at least Friday as we have received a confirmation of a positive test in our bubble. All of our staff have been tested and are awaiting results. We have yet to receive further guidance from OPH but will act upon consultation. Thanks for your understanding.... _ #Ottawa #UnionLocal613 See more
