I wanted to walk you through a typical staging job where the clients were on a budget but yet wanted to take advantage of staging their property. This house was quiet dark but by simply changing the light bulbs( we pretty much changed every single one in the house) to a higher wattage, it made the house look very bright. We painted the house to give a more updated look. The paint that was used is Benjamin Moore Collingwood. This colour is a greyish beige and shows wel...l during the day as well as at night, also it photographs very well. The couch in the family room looked dark and wasn’t in the best condition. Instead of buying a new one or renting one, the owners bough light coloured covers, which saved them money. We added a light rug to brighten the room and added light accessories to give it some interest. In the dining room we got rid of the bookshelf and replaced it with light coloured art piece, and plants on the table. We decluttered the kitchen and got rid of shelves which were making the kitchen look smaller. In the bedrooms we replaced the owners duvet and replaced them with ours and added art. In the breakfast area we rented a glass table( the original table was too big for the space and the light wood made it look outdated). We also replaced the art that wasn’t complementing the space with an art with more neutral colours. Is it worth staging your place! You be the judge. Maybe you will spend some money on the staging but at the end you might get a higher offer and have your house SOLD!!!
