This afternoon, we are hosting a diving board aim game during the afternoon! Swimmers will jump off the diving board and try to throw a ball into a bucket for a chance to win a prize. Tonight, we are having a bunch of different races! Come on out!

Then, tonight during public swim we will be having the Swim the Survive challenge, which gives swimmers the skills needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep w...ater. They will be required to roll into deep water, tread water for one minute and then swim 50 meters (2 lengths of our pool). Swimmers who participate will be given a certificate! Then, tonight, starting at 11pm, we will be showing the movie IT to everyone 14 and up! Come on down for $5 and bring a floaty and some snacks! We are so excited! Can’t wait to see everyone there! Come on down to the pool tonight during public swim! (6:30-8:30 pm) We will be hosting a search activity! Golf balls with small coloured dots are going to be thrown all over the pool! Swimmers will be divided up into three teams! The team who gets all of their coloured golf balls to the top first wins! There are also some balls with a special star on them, and if you find one of those you will win a small prize! We can’t wait to see you there!

We are kicking drowning prevention week off early today by starting our annual colouring contest and our first ever jellybean guess fundraiser!! For the jellybean guess fundraiser, you can pay $1 for 1 guess or $3 for 5 guesses. The guessing closes on Sunday, July 28th! The winner will get all of the jellybeans and a FREE punch pass for the 2020 pool season!! For our colouring contest, you can come down to the pool to pick up some pages to colour. The contest closes on Sunday, July 28th and four winners will be picked to win prizes! To potentially win a prize, please write your name, age and phone number somewhere on your picture!

Hey swimmers! This year’s drowning prevention week is next week, July 22-26!! Come to the pool next week for games, a colouring contest, some mock rescues, and lots of fun! The main events of drowning prevention week are: - Our annual BBQ on Wednesday, July 24th from 4:30-6:30. The movie will be starting at 11:00pm and it will cost $5 to enter. Unfortunately, swimming lessons will be cancelled this morning. (Friday, July 12th) There is too much chlorine in the pool right now, so it is unsafe to have swimmers in the pool. Families are being contacted about this right now. We have decided that this missed lesson will not be made up as this would have been a fun day filled with games for swimmers anyways. We will be closed tonight for public swim due to the chemical imbalance, from last night to this morning we had lost our clarity of the pool. With not being able to see the bottom of the pool it makes it unsafe for the swimmers as the lifeguards cannot check and see if the swimmers are safe. With that we had to Super-chlorinate the pool and shock it back into its normal. The chlorine levels were too high to be open while this process occurred. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Good morning Unity pool users! We have the health inspectors are here for our opening inspection and it looks hopeful! Will update after with hopefully good news that we can have our lessons today!!

Good afternoon everyone. To keep everyone in the loop, I just got off the phone with the repair group and it’s back together and being checked right away tomorrow morning. It will then be picked and brought back to town to be installed and inspected by the health inspector to allow us to be open for Wednesday. Once again we thank you for your patience during this time.

Good afternoon everyone. We have some unfortunate news. After numerous phone calls to the repairmen of our motor to see how things are going they are hoping to have the part in for Monday morning. We are adding in chemical as we need to get our pool as ready as we can, so when we get the pump back up and running we will be very close to starting up. At this point we do not see us being able to be open for the Monday lessons. We will be reaching out to the M/W lessons to inform them. We appreciate everyone's patience and we hope that after this we can have an amazing pool season!

Just wanting to give everyone a weekend update. We have talked with the repair person for the pump and they have the parts and they hope to be fixing it early this coming week! Thanks for your patience!

Good Afternoon Unity Pool users. We at the pool just want to keep you updated on our progress getting the pool up and running for the 2019 season. Over the winter the seal on the motor/pump that does the circulating has dried up. We sent it away for repair as soon as it was caught, and were hoping to have this motor back by now so we could start to firing things up to be ready for summer. Its not back quite yet, but we are hoping it won't be long! We will be keeping everyone updated on the pools progress and can't wait for a great summer season.

Private lessons will be considered upon request (same as last year) starting today! Spots are limited and based on instructor availability! You will need to provide a reason why you are requesting and the dates that are best available for you! Please inquire for further information! The preferred method for private lesson inquiry is by either email to [email protected], by Facebook messenger to Unity Credit Union Aquatic Centre or by contacting Lauren at the Town Office (306 228 2621) or at the pool starting in June (306 228 2133). Dates for privates this year are still being determined.

Here is our schedule for Friday’s activities! Come dive for change during evening public swim! Friday’s theme is Older But Not Always Wiser. The highest water-related fatality rates in 2010-2014 included Baby Boomers 50-64 years of age. Risky behaviour needs to be adjusted as you age. Know your swimming ability! The major risk factors include: not wearing a PDF or lifejacket, being alone, and alcohol consumption!

Wednesday’s theme is All Children Should Learn How to Swim to Survive! Swim skills need to be taught, they are not innate. Most drownings occur close to safety. Basic swimming abilities are a requirement of any meaningful attempt to eliminate drowning in Canada. This is why we are hosting the Swim to Survive challenge on Wednesday! It teaches the necessary skills to survive a fall into the water.
