SpiritGroups encourages a community service activity at the end of each session. Lori Ashley came up with the wonderful suggestion of offering some support to the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women and they were quite excited about having a couple rooms painted. When we visited to check out the project, we noticed some other areas that needed attention. We put out ‘the call’ to everyone that had been involved in our SpiritGroup orientation and folks support in various ways t...ime, money, blessings and so on. I approached Home Depot and the assistant manager immediately agreed to support our efforts with $200 of gift cards that was used to buy the necessary supplies. A wonderful day of working together COVID respectful with lots of energetic support. Our group even installed hand sanitizer dispensers on the second floor to complete the new COVID guidelines for the residence.
