Some of the cast of The Portrait Project, premiering November 19, 7:30pm. Avery Hunt Portrait - Freya’s Golden Tears by Gustav Klimt... Hello, my name is Avery Hunt. This is my final swan song in the University of Regina Theatre department. I enjoy making my own work and classical dramas. Some shows you may have seen me in include: Secrets of a Borne Settee, Antigone and Springs Awakening. Graydon Eskowich Portrait -The Desperate Man by Gustave Courbet Graydon is in his first year of university at the U of R, pursuing a degree in Film Production with a planned minor in Theatre. This is his first show at the UofR, and he has greatly enjoyed being part of such a dynamic production. Graydon was heavily involved for many years in his high school’s ‘Team Drama’ back home in Melfort, and served as team captain for his senior year. He is excited to be back on ‘stage’ and would like to thank the UofR theatre department and all cast and crew on the Portrait Project for welcoming him!

2020 DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AMY MATYSIO November is a busy month here in the Theatre Department! We have three more events coming up and we hope you will join us for all of them! In addition to our fall presentation of THE PORTRAIT PROJECT on November 19th, and the second edition of CROSSING CURRENTS on November 25th, the Theatre Department is proud to recognize actor AMY MATYSIO as our 2020 Distinguished Alumni, and we will celebrate Amy's many achievements on NOVEMBER 20th a...t 3 pm. Celebrated on both stage and screen, Amy Matysio is an award-winning actor, improvisor, singer, and voice-over artist. With accolades that include multiple Saskatchewan Arts Award and Canadian Comedy Award nominations, she is also the inaugural recipient of the Regina Mayor's Arts & Business Emerging Artist Award, was named one of CBC Saskatchewan’s Future 40, Playback's Ten To Watch, and earlier in 2020, was a double Canadian Screen Award nominee for her work in CBC's Save Me and OutTV’s Running With Violet. She has worked across Canada for several notable theatre companies including the National Arts Centre, Soulpepper, Persephone, Northern Light, Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan, numerous seasons with Globe Theatre, including her powerhouse turn in the one woman "tour-de-force" The Syringa Tree. She continues to collaborate with Curtain Razor's Joey Tremblay - appearing in Bad Blood, and adaptations of George Dandin (Globe Theatre) and The Wizard of Oz (Dora Award, Young People’s Theatre). Notable Film/TV credits include WolfCop & Another WolfCop, Just Friends, Guilt Free Zone, Single White Spenny, and inSAYSHAble, the award-winning digital comedy which she created/produced and starred in. As a voice artist, she has lent her unique sound to numerous brands, while creating a wild variety of voices for CBC programs including Ideas, SoundXchange and This is That. She is the voice of villainess Mallory in The Mysticons (YTV/Nickelodeon) and can be heard in Audible's Greenwood, Songs for the End of the World, and in Margaret Atwood's Angel Catbird. Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, she is a BFA graduate of the University of Regina in Theatre, and now makes her home Toronto. Fiercely proud of where she came from, Amy is deeply moved to receive this honour!

Meet the rest of the cast of The Portrait Project! Tune in this Thursday at 7:30pm for the premiere! Jadav Cyr Portrait -Social Disconnect 3 by Josh Miels... Jadav Cyr is a fourth-year theatre and performance student at the University of Regina. He has been done both theatre and film. he has worked in traditional and devised theatre. He has been in shows such as 4our (Devised), Secrets from the Borne Settee (Devised), The Hiding Place, Johnny Unforgettable. He has done a commercial for Sasktel, NO STRINGS PREPAID. He has done Dramaturgy for the theatrical adaptation of Charles Dickens, The Signalman. He is excited to be working with his portrait Social Disconnect 3 by Joshua Mills in this upcoming project. Our goal is to bring people together for a show unlike anything they have ever seen before. Do you want to get in on the action? Tune in November 19th for a one-of-a-kind experience. Finn Burke Portrait - Untitled by Kim Byungkwan Finn is an actor, singer and deviser with Listen to Dis’: The Other Ordinary. He was exposed to theatre at an early age through his mother, playwright Kelley Jo Burke. Credits include Dr. Gusano/Chris in Seatbelt (November, 2019, U of R Theatre), company member in Mine to Have (TBA, 2021, Listen to Dis Disability Theatre). Jack in Neither a Hero nor an Ordinary Person (May-August, 2019, Listen to Dis Disability Theatre, Other Ordinary Productions, various tour locations) and a number of speaking roles in the fabulous Sheldon-Williams Collegiate musical theatre program. Finn is excited and scared to be part of the wild experiment that is the Portrait Project. Nicole Bear Portrait - Broken Column by Frida Kahlo Nicole Bear is excited to be working with these amazing people on The Portrait Project. Nicole has previously been in Neither Heroes Nor Ordinary People, New Canadian Kid, Mine To Have, Fame, Seatbelt and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Nicole lives in Regina with her husband, Nick and their two furbabies, Bella and Misty. Thank you to the entire company for your support throughout this process. Thanks also to Nicole’s friends and family for their love and support.
