Hi! My name Jaedine, I am graduating from the After Degree nursing program. My favourite memory from my time at #UAlbertaNursing is getting the opportunity to learn and build my knowledge and skills alongside other driven and passionate individuals who love this profession as much as me. I will never forget all the starbucks study dates with my amazing group of friends. Now that my BScN is complete, I think I will miss going to campus and seeing my friends everyday of the w...eek. However, I am so excited to be working as a graduate nurse and can't wait to build relationships with all my new colleagues. I have always been very interested in women's health, and I was able to get a casual job working on postpartum at the Grey Nuns. I plan on continuing learning about women's health nursing, and hope to one day also work in the NICU or L&D! I plan on safely celebrating [convocation] with my family by ordering in food from my favorite restaurant, taking some pictures, and playing some card games. #UAlberta20 #UAlbertaNursing #YearOfTheNurseAndMidwife #Nurses2020 #DoGreatThings

My name is Nicole, and I am a graduate of the After-Degree program in Nursing at #UAlberta. I previously studied a Bachelor of Science from the U of A, and during my studies I quickly realized I love the pathophysiology of disease and the science of medicine. Growing up, my mom and grandma were nurses and I knew I was destined to follow a similar path. Through my work as a child development assistant and a volunteer at the Cross Cancer Institute, I decided I wanted a career w...hich allowed me to advocate and care for the needs of others in many different fields. I love nursing more than anything and couldn’t be happier with my choice. My favourite nursing school memory is being placed in a working group on the first day of the program with three perfect strangers who would later become three of my best friends. We endured every experience in school together, and I couldn’t have done it without them! I am going to miss the endless laughs and experiences of first time nursing experiences and being able to share it with my friends and classmates. I currently work as an RN in Emergency at the University Hospital, and it is my dream job! I can combine critical care with trauma and pediatrics, all areas I am interested in. I love the fast paced and chaotic environment, and every day is a different experience. Though I have no plans to celebrate my convocation due to #COVID19, I hope to plan a celebratory graduation trip when it is safe to do so! #UAlberta20 #UAlbertaNursing #DoGreatThings #YearOfTheNurse
