A 30-foot long cast of a plesiosaur and a beloved landmark in CCIS has an official nickname following a student-led naming contest: Dr. Deeno Hinshaw. Thank you to all the students who voted, and the U of A Palaeontological Society for leading the contest!
Cast your vote in the contest to name the most beloved plesiosaur on campus!
Greetings everyone, We are sure that you are all aware of the recent COVID-19 measures enacted by the University of Alberta. With the Symposium coming up tomorrow, we have been monitoring the situation and have kept registered attendees posted. We have also been in contact with the Public Health Response Team at the University. Following their recommendations, we have unfortunately decided to postpone the symposium until further notice. At this point, the re-scheduled date is... undecided, but will likely be in the upcoming Fall 2020 semester, provided that everything has returned to normal then. For those who have already paid for tickets, your registration fee can be fully refunded - just email us at [email protected] to organize this. We apologize for the inconvenience and last-minute nature of this announcement, but we're sure you understand the rapidly-evolving nature of the situation. Please feel free to be in touch with us if you have any comments or questions. Thank you for your understanding, and be safe. Regards, UofAPS Executives
