Did you know Oct.12th is World Squash Day? To celebrate we will be providing free lessons, playing mini games and handing out snacks. Have you ever played in Campus Cup before and can’t wait for November? Were you an Lister Allstar or have aspirations to becoming one? Have no idea what we’re talking about but you like to play dodgeball? Well lucky for you. UofA Squash Club is proud to announce its first inter-club dodgeball event. Squash club, badminton club and table tennis club are teaming up to organize a fun ice-breaker event for members and non-members to socialize and play the sport that UofA is most known for. The event will take place at Education Gym, October 5th (Saturday) at 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Members are able to participate for FREE, non-members will have a small fee of $5. What an exciting weekend of squash we had! The U of A Open always does a great job of bringing out a good mix of players to make for a great weekend and this year was no exception! We take huge pride in our leading tournament participation rate, and pulling together a draw of 70 players was so great for 2019! ... Calling all Athletes! The U of A Squash Club is hosting our 11th annual U of A Open at the VVC squash courts during March 7th-10th! If you have been playing squash with some buddies at the VVC courts all year and finally need some new competition, this tournament is for you! If you are tired of the same old gym workout routine (pumping iron can only be so fun right? ), this tournament is for you! If you have been playing squash competitively for years, this tournament is also FOR YOU! See a pattern... We really do mean ALL skill levels are welcome! We segment divisions on skill level and rankings to make sure everyone has fair competition! The tournament is $40 for Squash Alberta members and $50 for non-Squash Alberta members. Which is a steal of a deal for such an actioned pack weekend! There are prizes for all top finishers in each division, as well there is a tournament entry souvenir. Hi Squashers! Have you ever challenged someone to a match but struggled to coordinate a time for the two of you to hit? Is it hard to find an opponent in your ...same skill level? Do you want to have more experience playing matches? Well, Squash Club has it covered! Come try out our Grand Prix event! For those of you that haven't heard the break down at Squash Club, we have attached a write up of the format below! On Saturday, January 26th we will be hosting our first Grand Prix event. This is a FREE trial event from the hours of 2-4pm at the VVC squash courts.

Our first Exhibition match of the year was a huge success, can't wait for what's in store next term! Thanks to our 30 person crowd for coming out to cheer on some awesome squash! As well thanks to Ibrahim and Abdel for taking on the Exhibition challenge! Ibrahim won the first game 12-10, but Abdel was well on his heels in the second (with two backcourt knicks in a row) and he tied the games, 1-1, Ibrahim picked up the third game as well took a strong lead in the 4th game. Abdel fought back to close the gap, but Ibrahim closed the door to solidify his victory!

The first official club night will be Monday, September 10th in the Van Vliet Squash Courts from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. We do have equipment rentals however it will be first come first serve.

Hello fellow Squashers! As summer is winding down we hope you are getting as pumped as us for the 2018/2019 Squash season! The University of Alberta's Fall term starts September 4th so that means Clubs Fair is just around the corner! If you have any questions regarding this years club season, ESL, or any questions regarding squash please come say hi at the Clubs Fair tent! We will be there Tuesday, September 4th from 1pm-4pm and Wednesday, September 5th from 1pm-4pm See you there!
