One of the top ways an individual can impact climate change (along with reducing food waste) --> https://www.drawdown.org/solutions/food/plant-rich-diet
I co-led a webinar last week and it's now available to view for free online. The "Supporting Healthy Eating at School: What we say and do matters" webinar recor...ded content is under an hour. About half of it is a presentation from myself and a fellow public health dietitian, followed by a Q&A. Please feel free to take a look and/or spread the word! The target audience is teachers, school administrators, school support workers, before and after school care providers, community partners, and public health professionals, whose mandate involves children and youth. But, really anyone who interacts with children around food in any way may find some useful tidbits in there. Thank you for considering to spread the word. If you have any input, feedback, or questions, I'd also love to hear them. Thanks again! See more

We are surrounded by diet culture and I strive to find ways to shift our focus. Have you heard of body kindness? It's an amazing podcast and an equally amazing book that helps us move towards a healthier, happier outlook. Check it out and let me know what you think :)

Sharing an article I was interviewed for: "Telling people to eat vegetables and stay away from fried foods often doesn't work so well in a university setting, she said, when students are already bombarded with having lots of things to learn. "In my experience, the traditional nutrition-education messages don't get across," she said. "I think we need to focus on the environment: Making the healthy choice the easy choice and making it look and taste good." https://www.cbc.ca//weight-gain-university-students-freshm

Great read for the New Year!
"The best diet isn’t sexy. It doesn’t have celebrity endorsements. There’s no plan you have to buy into. Hell, it doesn’t even have a marketing strategy. The be...st diet is one that is based on the inclusion of healthful foodsnot the exclusion of food groupsand will last you far longer than the lifespan of whatever Atkins, Zone, Whole30, South Beach, low-fat, low-carb, Paleo, Mesozoic, Bulletproof, or keto plan is the hot new thing."
