We're so bogged down by project constraints that we often lose sight of the best possible solutions. In this #AdobeMAX session, designer Kelli Anderson challenges us to see the limitless potential that's right before our eyes. She uses low-tech and analog materials to solve large scale, high-tech design problems for amazing results. Let us know if you'll be employing some of these ideas in your next project. https://buff.ly/2ILVTYE

Now that we're back in #lockdown over here, why not break out some Frontline Friends? Our Frontline Friends are really occupying the frontline of our hearts right now. As this second wave becomes increasingly more serious than the first, we want to do something to honour them, so if you missed it the first time, here it is again! #FrontlineFriends, is our collection of stories and colouring book illustrations of real people who are out there doing important things. While our job is to stay home, their job is to ensure we're well-prepared and safe. For that, we couldn't be more grateful. Download Frontline Friends and add a little colour to your day. https://buff.ly/3ataxMv

Today, and every day, we honour the sacrifices many have made to help protect our freedom.

When you see packaging or brand design using a funky visual mashup of 3D, illustration, shapes, textures, colours and patterns, do you wonder, "How the heck did that designer come up with that?" We certainly do, which is why we totally devoured this #Adobe MAX session from Radim Malinic. Check it out for yourself: https://buff.ly/3eFY8bN

Are those Monday blues getting you stuck in a creative rut? When we chatted with Juan Carlos Pagan, the creative genius behind the branding of Pinterest and Ciroc, we asked him how he deals with creative slumps. This is what he told us: I just keep working. I keep making things even if it sucks, even if at the moment I hate everything.

A big heart-eyes emoji and hello to the newest addition to our team, Erica! Erica Urias is a creative-driven client manager who moves agilely from script writing, to shoot-day planning, to communicating with clients and back. (She also just happens to be a missing link on our team as #MyCreativeType, the Dreamer!) Erica is motivated by purpose-driven work, with experience working in both the not-for-profit and corporate sectors. She gravitates toward messages with heart, an...d she brought the emotional connection people have with their homes needed to ground Red River Mutual’s upcoming residential insurance campaign (stay tuned!). In her spare time, Erica loves to travel (when it’s possible!), be outdoors and watch basketball with her partner and son (go Raps!). She speaks fluent Spanish, dresses the best on the UpHouse team and soothes people with just the tone of her voice and smile (no, really we have the testimonial to prove it).

Last year, we updated the brand identity for Reel Pride Winnipeg, Winnipeg's International LGBTTQ* Film Festival. We introduced a vibrant, retro type mixed with multiple colours to capture a modern visual take on the LGBTTQ* rainbow. But this year: surprise! The festival went online. Instead of re-inventing the wheel, we modified their brand standards to be more digital-friendly leaning on a cleaner font for all digital materials, and creating a number of Canva templates fo...r their in-house marketer to promote the festival's schedule on social media. We love creating just what you need and having a handoff point where it makes sense to keep work in-house we love it so much that this is exactly the UpHouse model we're founded on . We also made just a slight tweak to their bold 2019 poster design to emphasize the new digital aspect this year. What do you think?
