We wanted to take a moment to wish those celebrating in our UBMS community a happy Diwali! Diwali is the Indian festival of lights and we found the perfect kid-friendly video that shares in a musical way more about what this celebration https://youtu.be/KZU6M4EisyA
Today is Remembrance Day. Today we remember and honour those who lost their lives while protecting Canada and nations around the world. One of the pieces associated in many parts of the world is The Last Post. This is one of a number of bugle calls in military tradition that mark the phases of the day. In military tradition, the Last Post is the bugle call that signifies the end of the day's activities. It is also sounded at military funerals to indicate that the soldier has gone to his final rest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5IGPlwW6xE
Last week was quite the week. Am I right? We've been waiting for the perfect moment to share this week's Rescue Package theme with you and we feel that the time is now right for... Bugs Bunny! Bugs Bunny is one of my favourite ways to introduce classical music to young kids. It's entertaining and there's lots of classical music! You'll also be laughing too. ... Here's a sneak peek of one of the Bugs Bunny performances we included in this week's package. If you missed it, let us know and we'll get you signed up! https://youtu.be/FzeFyKiPHZ8
Have you been loving our weekly rescue packages? If you have, we want to hear from you! Are there any themes you’d like to see in the coming months? Or perhaps you have an idea or musical activity to share! If that sounds like you, send us a message! https://www.upperbeachesmusic.com/contact
Looking for a practice game that doesn’t involve candy? Try the easy-peasy LEGO practice game. Have your child gather a small collection of LEGO pieces. Start putting the pieces together as they cross off things on their practice list!... Is a fun way to get creative and get practicing without candy! And here’s a pretty awesome LEGO music building display we found!
It’s November and you know what that means! It is officially practice month. Each time a student reaches their weekly practice goal we will be donating $1 to Kids Help Phone. We chose this approach as we thought it would be a great way for parents to engage with their kids about mental health, giving back, and other children in need. It also provides us with the opportunity to share this resource with our community of students if they need the support from Kids Help Phone. https://kidshelpphone.ca/
