Update - As you may already know, trails located at the Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary remain open. Visitors will be permitted to use the trails at their own leisure and we ask all visitors to practice safe physical distancing (2 metres) to ensure that everyone can enjoy the trails safely. The following rules and regulations will apply: The Visitor Centre, washrooms and all common areas will remain closed until further notice. Visitors are asked to bring their ...own personal protective equipment; gloves, masks, hand sanitizer and disinfectant cleaning products. Face coverings or masks are mandatory on the trails where physical distancing is not possible. Guests will be required to bring their own. All visitors must follow physical distancing rules, remaining at least two (2) metres apart from other visitors at all times. Visitors will be required to self-assess their own health and should not visit the site if they feel unwell. Refrain from gathering in groups outside of your household at any one time to ensure that everyone can enjoy our sites safely. Do not litter. This includes garbage and personal protective equipment. Dogs are not permitted on the trails. Please note that the Friends of the Sanctuary will not proceed with their winter activities as planned in January 2021. The trails will still be groomed, weather permitting and visitors are still welcome to bring their own equipment to enjoy the trails.
Can you spot the owl? This beautiful owl was spotted near our Bird Sanctuary this morning! Barred Owls are common in Ontario all year round. They are incredibly curious and inquisitive, and many times will watch as you walk past them.
Please note that while our trails remain open during this time, we would like to remind guests that dogs are not permitted on the trails.
