Onward to 2021! Happy New Year!

We’re nearly through it! Even though so many plans haven’t aligned in 2020, we still hope everyone can find small things to smile about. We’ll see you all in 2021 - a year we’re all eager to embrace! Our office will be closed starting December 24 and we’ll reopen to regular office hours start again on January 4th. If you need emergency care over the days we are closed, please call our office can follow the prompts. ... Stay safe this season!

You know what great bosses appreciate on their special day? Chicken. Fried, greasy, pore-lubricating chicken. (Well that maybe went too far.) This year, as an added bonus, we asked our patients for words to describe Uptown and created word art with their responses.... Thanks for being exactly who you are, Dr. Anholt and Dr. Yaremko. We are so thankful for everything you do at work and at home on the daily. Happy Boss's Day!

Just an FYI for anyone who isn't spending their entire day shovelling... Our office is closed due to the abundance of frozen precipitation. Thankfully we had no patient appointments planned for today, but we had planned to catch up on our paperwork and phone calls. Unfortunately, that won't be happening. We promised another face this week and we’ll deliver! Ready, set Meet Jada Jada is easy to spell, but if we’re being honest, that’s not at all why we hired her. She started with Uptown in 2020, which happened to be a great year to start if you appreciate protocols being the complete opposite of ‘easy.’ But being a good town of Wilke girl , she took the challenges on like a champion and we’ve watched her skillfully and efficiently put her dental assisting skills t...o good use on our patients. When Jada is not inside, she’s usually outside! Backyards, parks, campgrounds, etc . She really, really loves it out there. Her husband loves it out there too, because if he wants to spend any time with Jada, it’s the only place he can find her. She’s also got an amazing beagle named Buster and we can only assume he’s got the name Buster because it’s enjoyable for her to stand outside yelling Hey Buster and Come here Buster just to see who else pays attention. So while you’re Jada’s post, get this We made Robyn and Jada start on the same day, at the same time! Then our entire team pretended like it was our first day at Uptown so they both got super confused. Okay, so that first part is true, that second part not so much.

We’re not ones to pump our own tires. We’d rather just confidently and casually just stick to providing the best patient care we can day in, day out. But we’re pretty proud of this accomplishment. We are a top tier Invisalign provider, the first orthodontic office in Saskatchewan to achieve a diamond certified rating given by the Invisalign team. This is earned by understanding how intelligently and efficiently we can treat patients with clear aligners to achieve incre...dible results. That’s enough pumping for one post.

There hasn’t been enough of our Uptown faces on here lately, but lucky for you, we’ve got two fancy new ones primed and ready to show off this week! Considering we’re not letting as many people into the clinic as we used to for safety reasons, we’ll gladly make some introductions to avoid you all from trying to climb up and peer into our windows. First up: Meet Robyn ... If you’re familiar with our legendary orthodontic/Batman spin-off shirts, you’d known that eventually we’d find our Robyn. Although she doesn’t wear a cape to work, we’re still extremely happy with her heroically showing up here because her actual skills come in far handier than any cape ever could. When she’s not working with one of our patients, you can find her meticulously organizing anything and everything that seems to be out of place in our clinic. Robyn grew up in the wind-whipped plains of southern Saskatchewan, in a booming metropolis called Mankota to be exact. Wait, did you mention wind!? We’re glad you brought that up! Because if you’ve ever heard her hit a solid, gut-busting laugh, you’d swear she’s inhaled enough air to put a minimum of 30 trees into full-time oxygen production. We only joke! But we do love her laugh, and considering she’s often hanging out with friends, family and her dog named Krew, there’s usually plenty of laughs to be had! We’re so glad she decided to join our league of extraordinary weirdos. Give her a and stayed tuned for another new face later this week!

Uptown Orthodontics was a local vision right from the start. Dr. Anholt and Dr. Yaremko had both planned to reconnect with the Saskatoon community after completing their orthodontic education in Alberta. Their intentions became a reality in 2012, and despite the shifting landscape in the corporate dental industry, their vision has endured to remain a locally-owned, community-oriented practice that simply loves to create smiles.
