Day 2 Self-love You can only be genuinely happy and at peace with the world if you love yourself. Likewise, you cannot fully love another person if you do ...not even appreciate yourself to begin with. Prioritizing yourself over others is not a sign of selfishness. Now, do not confuse this with me telling that you are putting yourself before your higher power, God, or whatever other spiritual or religious beliefs you have! I am talking about taking the action steps to care for yourself and not expending all your energy reserves on others. I am talking about respecting yourself to ensure that your needs are taken care of. If you are a Mom, you cannot care for your kids, if you are depressed, tired and empty. How do you know that you are loving yourself The old cliché is true: your body is your temple. If you do not take care of your body, then it means you are not taking care of your temple. Learn to listen to your body. When you are stressed and tired, take a nap. Give yourself some room to breathe. Love what you see in the mirror. Accept yourself for who you are and stop judging yourself. In my practice, I have many clients engage in mirror work. This involves looking at yourself in the mirror daily, directly in your eyes, and telling yourself, I love you. So many people have a difficult time with this because they focus on their looks. AND they are unhappy with their appearance. Learn to look beyond the physical. Learn to prioritize yourself above everyone else. This is not selfishness, this is key to true self-love and happiness. Add yourself to your Day-Timer! In my 5 Day Meditation Challenge that helps you create a meditation routine; I have you pencil yourself into your Day-Timer! I want you to make sure that you make time for yourself & put yourself before others. Now, I am not talking about taking it to an extreme. If you step over others to get what you want, then that is a different story. I am not talking about hurting anyone, I am talking about respecting yourself. When you do that, you are in essence respecting others. Today I want you to take out your Day-Timer and pencil in each day for a week, some time for you! That may be reading a book for 15 min, taking a nap, having a coffee date with yourself, getting a massage, going to the gym, taking a walk outside in nature, or even a telephone call with a friend or simply doing some mirror work. Its up to you, but make sure it is something that brings you joy & does not harm anyone else. If you want to use an essential oil today that fosters self love & happiness choose Bergamot! It is the embodiment of self-love & self-worth. This oil helps process and release the fear of not being good enough and opens you up to love and self-acceptance. I love putting it in a mister. Mix 10 drops of il in a spray bottle with distilled water. Replace the cap and shake vigorously until well blended. Before using, shake the bottle and apply 2 to 3 sprays to the body. Enjoy! Day 1 Happiness Happiness is a state of mind. You can have all the money in the world and still be unhappy. On the other side of the coin, you can have ...no worldly possessions but still live a very happy life. We all have different definitions of happiness. Happiness is really a mental state that reflects your range of emotions that you encounter daily. It defines how you view your life, that is, whether you are satisfied or unsatisfied with your quality of life. But really happiness is the state of being happy. When we live life mindfully, remaining present, we cannot no be happy. Today, I want to perform breath observation. Become aware of your breath throughout the day. Are you holding your breathIf you find you are, then breathe out and naturally let the universe fill you back up. When we take a deep breath, we tense up. When we breath out, we relax. When you focus on the breath, all you have is right now, right here. If you use essential oils citrus oils are great for uplifting your mood. Put a drop of lemon oil in the palm of your hand and inhale. Or cut a lemon in half squeeze a few drops into your water and drink. Take time to smell the fresh lemon. Essential oils powerfully benefit brain function & its processes. When used aromatically when diffusing oils or inhaling dir...ectly from the palm of your hands, can directly access the brain through the olfactory bulb. They can produce immediate physical and emotional responses in the brain. Oils that can support the brain are: Clove- provides anti-viral, anti-bacterial and antifungal properties while supporting the brain.
