The Barrie Good Food Box is back! Boxes are $17 and packed with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. Order by Oct 7 & pick up on Oct 14

This Saturday - bring your extra garden veggies to the CareTable and/or take a new veggie home with you! You don't have to donate to be allowed take some food. And if you donate you can still take food. It's all about sharing the harvest! Presented by Connected Core Barrie

How is everyone's compost going? We'd love to see photos of your DIY compost bins!

A CareTable popped up this Past Saturday where residents shared produce from their gardens with fellow community members The give & take was organized by Connected Core Barrie. More dates coming soon!

This Saturday there is a pop-up Give and Take (presented by Connected Core Barrie) where you can bring some of your excess garden produce. Any and all community members are welcome to enjoy the food from the CareTable (social distancing of course!). Saturday, August 22 from 1-3 pm at the Barrie Public Library (parking lot) a CareTable is popping up as part of the City's Care Kitchen program around food security. Give Some. Get Some. It is FREE.... A volunteer from Barrie Urban Gardeners will be there to receive any donations of produce from gardens if anyone has extra goodies. Tables will be set up to support residents to take fresh produce they may not have access to. Non-perishables are also being accepted. If you know of anyone that may benefit from this please share. Please encourage people to bring their own bags (no plastic bags will be provided; ideally a plastic free event).

Volunteers Needed! We are looking for some more hands to help in the Janice Laking community garden (south east Barrie). All of this beautiful produce is being shared with the food bank and other not-for-profits. Message us for more info!

The Simcoe County Food Council is working with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to offer a Zoom presentation on the COVID-19 guidelines for community gardens.
