Since we have started releasing new Class 5 road test appointments each Wednesday at 9 a.m., we have heard from many customers who havent been able secure a sp...ot. We know its frustrating! Due to COVID-19, we were unable to conduct road tests for just over three months. We resumed testing services in June and have been seeing thousands of customers trying to book road tests every Wednesday. To ensure your safety and ours due to COVID-19 procedures during the test, we are only able to make limited appointments available each week. But were working hard to make as many appointments available as is safe each week for you to book. A few things to keep in mind when youre looking to book or reschedule an appointment: This Wednesday, our Online Services function will be unavailable between 8-9 a.m. as we get all the available appointments ready for you. Once were up and running after 9 a.m., if no available appointments are showing up, try changing the starting date of your search. Each search will display available appointments at least 40 days into the future. This week, we are booking road test appointments in Winnipeg as late as the week of November 24, 2020. While availability is limited, we encourage customers with scheduled appointments to avoid rescheduling in an effort to get an earlier date. If you are unable to take your test when scheduled, rescheduling is always an option. If youre looking to book or reschedule an appointment outside of Winnipeg, including in Brandon: you dont have to wait for Wednesday! Weve worked through our backlog of tests in rural areas, so rural appointments are available any time during the week, based on availability. If you are looking to reschedule a test online or have already paid for a test and are looking to book your appointment (either knowledge or road test): you can do this through the *Manage an Appointment section*, not Book a Road Test.

Another great 5 star review

Even though COVID-19 has contributed to reduced traffic volumes on Manitoba roads, far too many drivers are travelling at dangerous speeds, risking the lives of... others on our roadways. Over the last three months April to June a total of 148 speed-related Serious Driving Offences (SDOs) have been reported to MPI, a 60 per cent increase compared to the same time frame in 2019 when 93 SDOs were reported. Dangerous driving not only makes our roads unsafe, it has significant consequences for the person behind the wheel, too. Learn more: https://www.mpi.mb.ca/Pages/nr2020july22.aspx.

Theyre back! Starting tomorrow, we will resume booking new road tests for Classes 2-6! In order to effectively manage the anticipated high interest in booking... new road tests, particularly for Class 5, available appointment slots will be made available every Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. until we are able to work through the expected backlog. When all the available appointments are filled, new appointments will not be made available until the next Wednesday. Cancelled appointment slots will also not become available until the next release date. There are three ways to book a road test appointment: Online: Customers are encouraged to book Class 5 and 6 road tests through MPIs Online Services here: https://apps.mpi.mb.ca/onlineservices/en/default.html. Over the phone: For customers who either cannot or do not wish to visit an Autopac agent or service centre during the COVID-19 pandemic, you can call your Autopac agent to book a test. In person: As always, road tests can also be booked in person at Autopac agents or MPI Service Centres. As with all of other testing we have been able to resume, we have made some changes to the road test procedures to keep customers and staff as safe as possible. These include: Maintaining physical distancing (minimum of 2 metres/6 feet) when possible. Providing and wearing your own mask (non-medical masks are permitted). Answering questions to ensure you have not been exposed to COVID-19 or are not experiencing respiratory illness symptoms. Sanitizing all touchpoints in their vehicle. To find the requirements for your specific licence class, please visit our COVID-19 Driving Tests page here: https://www.mpi.mb.ca/Pages/COVID-19-driving-tests.aspx.

With revised processes to ensure your safety, we are resuming road tests for Classes 2-5 for customers who had previously scheduled appointments that were cance...lled due to COVID-19. There are approximately 4,300 (!) customers that had scheduled road tests. If you had a test cancelled due to COVID-19: Youll be hearing from us! Were in the process of calling all customers who had previously booked tests, in order of their original test dates, to reschedule your appointments. Customers whose tests were scheduled at our Main Street location, which is currently operating as a COVID-19 testing site, will be offered appointments at alternate locations. If youre looking to book a new test: Stay tuned! We will announce here and on our website when booking will be reopened for new appointments and we ask customers not to contact us to book new tests until we do so. We cant schedule them yet! We have also updated road test procedures during COVID-19 for the protection of both our customers and our staff. You can find all the details of what youll need to do prior to your road test here: https://www.mpi.mb.ca/covid19drivingtests. Wear your seat belt, protect your head! In Manitoba, nearly 50 per cent of all collision-related, severe brain injuries occur between May to September but th...eyre almost all preventable. Collision data shows that contributing factors such as exceeding the speed limit, non-seat belt use, impaired driving, driver distraction, changing lanes improperly, and extreme fatigue all have higher prevalence during the summer and early fall. So, buckle up, slow down and pay attention when youre behind the wheel to protect yourself and your passengers. Learn more: https://www.mpi.mb.ca/Pages/nr2020june10.aspx.

Did you know? In Manitoba, half of all annual cyclist injuries take place over the next three months June, July and August. Everyone on our roads deserves to ...feel safe and its everyones responsibility. For drivers, that means giving cyclists room to breathe which means at least one metre of space when driving alongside or overtaking cyclists. For cyclists, always follow the rules of the road, including stopping at traffic lights and stop signs. Learn more: https://www.mpi.mb.ca/Pages/nr2020june8.aspx.
