Learning from the Land, in the City 27.01.2021

Update: stay posted for details of our upcoming winter walk, to be held in January 2020. We'll hear all about energy and the cosmos! What about the fall walk? Due to volunteer availability and other great community events this fall, like the Climate Strikes and CCEDNET Gathering, we chose to postpone the fall walk. Hope to see you all soon! We're really excited to announce the second walk in the Learning from the Land, In the City series is scheduled for Saturday August 17. We're going to be talking about Winnipeg's urban forest as a dynamic ecosystem that includes so much more than just trees: it's about habitat for people as well as wildlife. Confirmed speakers on this walk include: Audrey Logan, traditional knowledge keeper and permaculture gardener at the Good Food Club garden in West Broadway; Ella Rockar, ...Housing Coordinator at West Broadway Community Organization; Ariel Gordon, author of Treed: Walking in Canada’s Urban Forests; Veda Koncan, Project Coordinator at the Manitoba Harm Reduction Network. This walk is graciously supported by a West Broadway Community Organization small grant. https://www.facebook.com/events/214606736096859/
