October 31 was United Nations’ #WorldCitiesDay. Back in the spring, Bayview Glen students in Senior Kindergarten were tasked with the opportunity to create the ...promotional poster for this year’s Urban Economy Forum. Each art piece shows the Toronto city skyline, and their vision for what an ideal city will look like. The #UrbanEconomyForum (UEF) works alongside the #UnitedNations to achieve the #UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In particular, the UEF is committed to creating resilient sustainable communities (Goal 11). Having this poster up on display at the Bayview Glen Lower School will enable our students to have meaningful conversations both across our school community and at home, regarding the need for lifestyle changes to achieve long-term sustainability. One of our goals at Bayview Glen is to enhance the global competencies of our students in order to inspire Global Citizenship and an Entrepreneurial Mindset.
