Urban Eden is fully booked for the 2020 season. We were able to accommodate those waiting from 2019 as well as the first few on our wait list for this year. We hope to be able to start at the beginning of May and will contact the remainder of our waitlist if any spaces open up.

Gifts from the community. Unfortunately we'll have to hire someone to haul it all away. We can't have our usual group nights for repairs to the vandalism.

Due to self-distancing regulations, we are waiting for confirmation that our annual site contract and water services are being renewed. We have a handful of open spaces and a very long wait-list so I am asking everyone who's inquired to reconfirm their interest. Our only requirement for garden membership is that you live in the downtown core. URBAN EDEN COMMUNITY GARDEN INFORMATION: If you're just looking for a little patch of land to garden, we're NOT the place for you.... Gardeners do not just rent a space - they join a working community. Urban Eden is city parkland specifically allocated to our garden group and we are fully responsible for the site maintenance. This includes mowing, trimming, filling water barrels, weeding and watering communal flower beds, cleaning the site and (normally) participating in cleanups and work bees such as helping with bed repairs or tidying for tours and special events. All garden members are required to contribute time towards this, a minimum of 8 hours per season and this year is no exception. Those who don't fulfill their hours are not considered to be in good standing and will not be invited back; those who contribute their hours or more, can apply for a full plot the following season. We place our gardeners first, depending upon availability, then fill remaining spaces from our wait list. NEWS: A good third of the beds in the garden are currently in need of repairs or replacement. We are not able to have our usual community work nights; we will be working on solutions to make materials and supplies available to individuals to work on their plot assignments as needed.

To everyone who's sent a message inquiring about the garden spaces for this season: we are waiting to confirm our contract with the city for this year and also to confirm that we will have water for this season.
