Dog tags ring, are you listenin'? In the lane, snow is glistenin'. It's yellow, NOT white I've been there tonight, Marking up my winter wonderland. Smell that t...ree? That's my fragrance. It's a sign for wandering vagrants; "Avoid where I pee, it's MY pro-per-ty! Marked up as my winter wonderland." In the meadow dad will build a snowman, following the classical design. Then I'll lift my leg and let it go Man, So all the world will know that it's mine-mine-mine! Straight from me to the fence post, flows my natural incense boast; "Stay off my TURF BSL, this small piece of earth, I marked it as my winter wonderland." Have a beautifully blessed day, my friends, ~Brian xoxo

Might as well promote myself on my own page as well. I'm still doing pet portraits so if you know anyone who would like one (Father's Day is around the corner) then send me a message!

Missing dogs? Saw a pair this morning. Collars but no tags. One black, one tan. Medium to large, not sure what breed, very friendly. Picked them up on Olde bayv...iew and they trotted along north lake westbound then were heading back east. Last seen by me about 20 minutes ago heading up Fergus. If they’re yours please go find them, the black one darted out in front of a school bus and almost got hit and the tan one was trotting down the middle of the road at one point. See more

Dog spotted running loose across the Queensway heading down Terrace by "Midas". Looked like a big beagle/hound mix, tan, white. No collar. Attempted several times to get close without success. Doesn't seem to be afraid of cars.

When I selected this to be last year’s calendar image for November, I had absolutely no idea how accurate this expression would be to depict how I’m feeling about a lot of things these days. This is my November face.

MEMORIAL FOR SHEP~ With the current community transmission of Covid-19 now raising Durham Region to the Red Level, we sadly announce that we must postpone Shep...'s memorial until the Spring, in 2021. We will then organize a meaningful tribute to this cherished, retired service dog, here at Thistledown, and in hopefully, safer circumstances for us all to gather... For Colette (Cauli) Brown, having it take place in the Spring holds special meaning as her husband Jim passed away in May of 2014. On behalf of Cauli Brown, Nancy and Colin Graham of Thistledown, thank you for the outpouring of love & support as we care for Shep who now truly is an Angel dog, and in heaven with his beloved Jim... Message from Shep in the Afterlife via Animal Communicator Marybeth Haines: My body has diminished. It is with clarity that I am saying that my spirit is soari...ng. It is peaceful. I am at Peace. The time, the effort, the energy of taking space in working together to support in finding me is a success. Because it brought a Community together and for that I am grateful. So please Colette, Lisa, Tami, Miss Daisy, Lola, Lexie, Family, Friends, Community and the Chelsea Team I ask that you look at it as a success and not a failure for this is my path... I am Home now with God and it was time. I lived a good life. I wanted a life of service and I lived a life of service. I fulfilled my Purpose and I am at Peace. My love will always surround you. Please feel me near. Thank you for your love. Please send that love you give to me to yourself. I am with my master, the gentleman (Jim) that I helped in life. We are together, both pain free and we are happy. To Nancy and Colin from Thistledown Pet Memorial: Thank you for the time during the last 6 years I spent on your sacred ground that surrounds your space. This was so Healing for me. It was space where I could be free and that is the space in which I became free to be with God. Thank you for listening. Thank you for honouring. I honour you. Someone could easily have come to Toronto with Cassie, thinking she was abandonded on the island.....she is about 5 Mos old now, likely about 20lbs...id she is ...here, let us know she is safe!! Cassie is still missing from Grenadier Island, the south end of Pigeon Lake, near the narrows going to Buckhorn Lake, since Oct 13, between 4-5 pm. Unfortunately, the mystery continues. Kevin from Trackers Edge came to the Island and his dog Hobo followed many trails. Interestingly, Hobo went to the north end of the island, a place where Cassie had not been before, and when dogs are scared they run to the east if possible and if not North. Possibly, she ran to the north end of the island in a fear state and is hiding. Possibly, she is still there, if you are near Grenedier Island, in Pigeon Lake please have a look if you live close, scan with binoculars if you can. As the weather worsens, the Island is not suitable for humans, the cottages are summer only.it literally killed us to leave the island. Possibly, she is in a new home. We have no reason to believe she is not alive. Cassie’s human Mom (Kelly) and Dad (Gary) are still so upset. The grandkids ask about Cassie every day. We cannot put posters up, the possible spots for a boat to go to on Pigeon Lake is simply too much land, so we are hoping for social media to help. Or if anyone knows someone in the media that might be interested in this bizarre disappearance, we would love the help. Please forward and keep Little Cassie and her humans in your thoughts and prayers. Her story is here. Cassie is a 4 month old French Bull Weenie who was happily playing around her human dad as he worked at the cottage. Gary, her Dad, played chase with her when he went to check the time in the cottage. Kelly was reading on the porch, and gave Cassie a pat and she came skidding to a halt at her feet. It was 4pm, time to finish up for the night, Gary told Cassie what a good girl she is as they went back to put the tools away. About an hour later Gary made his way back to the cottage and inside for dinner. As he sat, he looked around and realized Cassie was not there, when she wasn't with him walking back he thought she had gone to Kelly, begging for some counter droppings. Gary and Kelly went outside and called for their incredibly outgoing friendly puppy. It was her dinner time too, and she LOVES her food, so this is completely out of character. Cassie did not respond. They searched Grenadier Island desperately calling her name as the sun went down. Nightfall came and there was no sign of Cassie. Gary continued to wander the island, it is not a big island, thin and long, less then a km by about 250m, Kelly held vigil on the porch, crying quietly. Family and friends arrived the next day. We searched all day and were defeated by nightfall. Conspiracy theories began to run through our heads. One of the island cottagers was phoning local animal shelters and veterinarians, faxing pictures everywhere. Lee was told by one group that dogs are disappearing at a rate of 4 a day, allegedly for drug money. Soon we began to believe she was snatched. Then we thought this idea through, who drives a boat around looking for dogs to snatch? In October??? We then began to realize the island looks closed up from the west side, maybe she ran to Donny's dock, if a fisherman was close...she loved to greet any visitor and if they glanced at the closed up cottages and thought she was abandoned....and took her home to keep her safe... A social media campaign was launched with a post begging for her return. It has been forwarded almost a 1000 times, including every group that would allow it, buy and sells, hunting groups, any dog groups, community groups and any other facebook suggested groups. Via this social media we were pointed in the direction of a wonderful man named Kevin who runs Trackers Edge. Kevin gave us hope, so family and freinds headed back to the cottage on Saturday. Using a heat camera, my dogs (Cassie's dog parents), a friends dog we wandered the island again, under and in every building, even the outhouses praying for a sign. We had an episode of hope... Burley, the Dachshund, Cassie's dog dad, went crazy at a cottage, we found a heat source, we saw eyes in the flash of the camera, and saw a black moving shape in one of the videos shot placing a camera under the wall. Emotions were high, discussion of a chainsaw to open the wall, pulling the floor up, essentially destroying the cottage to get under it. We were finally able to dig enough for Burley to get under the wall, there was some growling, and with people watching all sides of the cottage a sudden scream had us all running to the front. A large black Mink came running out from under the cottage, racing to the water... The disappointment was palpable Nightfall came, as we sat by the fire, defeated agiain, we discussed setting the racoon traps with stinky food. We did this (after my dogs were locked up, Burley has been trapped a couple of times). We also placed food out with flour scattered around it, to look for paw prints. The food was untouched this morning, the traps remained intact. We are reaching out as this is such a mystery. Gary and Kelly did not hear a boat, they did not hear a cry, she doesn't swim or go in the water, she loves her people, she loves her food. There are no predators on the island. There are so many places some one could have been going if they thought she was abandoned, as we are on the island, there really is no local area to plaster with posters, and we are less then a km from the Trent Severn waterway.. We will continue to search... Thanks Tracey 416 817 9942

IT TAKES A VILLAGE - RAAW's FIGHT FOR GAMBOA In the last week so many of you kindly offered to donate to a Go Fund Me to cover legal costs. A lot of you becam...e pretty frustrated because I wouldn't address your questions. The fact is I was making arrangements and it could not be public. I did not want Vaughan AS to get a hint the family was going to fight them. If they knew, they would remove Gamboa before legal action could be taken to prevent him from being transported out of province. Gamboa's family will not be sitting back and allowing Vaughan Animal Services to keep or transport their baby without a huge fight. I am pleased to report the family now has legal counsel comprised of two extremely qualified people. Tarah Bracken, a family lawyer with a firm in Uxbridge, is teaming up with James Lockyer one of the most renowned and respected criminal lawyers in Canada. Google him. DNA is his specialty although he usually defends humans and not dogs. This story touched his heart and he does not want to see this happen to more families and pets. Last night Taura Bracken reached out to me to say she and James Lockyer wanted to get on board to bring Gamoa home. Vaughan Animal Services have now been put on notice that Gamboa is not to be transported out of the province. This has been one of the longest weeks of my life. We got Ringo and Kilo out of jail and through some unbelievable events over the last few days, RAAW has put together an extremely knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated team who will take this fight to the courts if necessary. Vaughan Animal Services will not know what hit them. RAAW IS WORKING WITH: My wonderful and generous friends from Dog Tales Dog and Horse Sanctuary in King City are onboard to provide temporary shelter and/or fostering if it is required. While we hope it won't be necessary, Dog Tales has everything at their finger tips including experts and facilities if further action is necessary. As always, when there is a need, they are anxious to help and provide Gamboa everything that may be required to bring him home. My dear friend Fran Coughlin and her enormous team of advocates from Hershey's anti BSL are providing expertise pertaining to the BSL Act and DOLA (Dog Owner Liability Act). Fran has been fighting BSL since its inception and we often fight an issue together. A number of government officials who are aware, supportive and working behind the scenes in an attempt to get MPP Rick Nicholls Bill 147 put through to overturn BSL. Natalia and her whole family want to express their deepest appreciation for the unbelievable support from so many people. Most of them strangers. It's a humbling ordeal and they have been overwhelmed by the entire experience. RAAW will keep you updated as the story continues to unfold. We still need your support so don't go far. There's more work to be done. I have not decided whether to do another petition or not but whatever strategy I come up with I may be asking for your to jump in because I can't do this without you.
