The pandemic didn't get in the way of a lot of Saskatchewan filmmakers. The 7th annual Saskatchewan Independent Film Awards announced the nominees today. The SIFAs will be an online event this year, on Saturday, November 28th, where the nominated short films will screen, and the awards will be "handed" out. ... Congratulations to everyone nominated, and to anyone who was able to get a film completed in this very challenging year.

When the pandemic lockdown happened in March, we were a week away from taking the class photo of our 4th year students. At least we have a few photos of many of them from their early years in the program. Some of them received their BFA degrees at the Spring and Fall convocations and some are finishing up their degrees. It’s been a real pleasure working with this bunch of interesting individuals and we look forward to seeing them move forward in their careers.
