This semester the PSA has formed a research reading group! This group offers bi-weekly, casual meetings to read and discuss interesting research in psychology. This program can help you to build skills in engaging with research and become more comfortable understanding and discussing research, develop speaking and presentation skills, and practice your critical thinking. Once again, we've had an OVERWHELMING response to the P2P program for this semester. We're so excited to meet you all and build a community of psychology students. Online classes can provide great flexibility and comfort, and most importantly they keep us safe and healthy. However, they can also be isolating and lonely. To try and recreate the sense of community being on campus can provide, the PSA has developed the Psych Lounge. This weekly Zoom call is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the semester. This is your space to drop in and chat about anything and everything, psychology and university related or otherwise. We will also hold events or themed nights for different Lounges too, so stay tuned to our social media and website for information throughout the semester. On January 25 the University of Regina and Health, Safety & Wellness will begin Mindful Mondays. This six week Mindfulness Program will guide you through sessions intended to introduce you to various mindfulness practices. Breathing, sound, and silent meditation, can help improve performance, reduce stress/anxiety, improve focus, enhance creativity and increase your emotional intelligence, resilience and communication skills.
