Meet the Education Students’ SocietySocial team. Meet Chandra. Hello, I’m Chandra Wassill and I’ll be one of the Social Representatives this year! I’m in my ...second year of the Secondary BEd/BSci Mathematics Program with a General Science minor. Obviously I love math, but I’m also a huge English and theatre nerd. The incredible teachers I had inspired me to go into education, and I’m so excited about this path. I’m looking forward to an excellent year as part of the ESS! See more

Meet the Education Students’ SocietyOur Professional Development Vice President. Kiah’s role in management & leadership skills make her an asset to our team. ... I’m Kiah Holness, and I am the VP of Professional Development (PD). I am passionate about PD because it provides an opportunity for us to grow, shift, and challenge our perspectives both inside and outside of the classroom! I am in my fourth year of the secondary program with a major in English and a minor in Inclusive Education. I am a lover of literature because it allows us to gain so many unique life experiences and teachings simply through the pages of a book. I chose inclusive education because I am passionate about creating a classroom in which every student has an adequate opportunity to succeed based on their differentiated learning styles and needs. When I am not writing essays or reading books, you can find me in the marketing department at Extreme Hockey and Sport, spending time with my people, or laughing at my own jokes! I’m a big look on the sunny side kind of gal! I am also a member of @h.e.r._crew which is a non-profit female empowerment organization and mentorship program that focuses on the pillars; Hopeful, Equipped, and Resilient! Check out the page or website for more info I’ll leave you with my fave quote right now from Mr. Nelson Mandela, People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than it’s opposite.

Meet the Education Students’ SocietyOur Communications team. Meet Jaelyn. Hello! My name is Jaelyn Prediger, and I am a member of the ESS Communications team.... Working with the ESS is something I have wanted to do since I began at the University of Regina, and this year I am glad to have finally taken the leap. The ESS is full of amazing humans, which I am so stoked to be working with this year! I am in my second year of the Secondary Education program with a major in Health Education and double-minors in Social Studies and Inclusive Education. I am concurrently working on my Inclusive Education certificate with my degree as well. I have had a passion for Health, Social Studies, working with students with exceptionalities, and teaching since I can remember, which is why I chose a path that would allow me to combine my passions into what I already know will be a fantastic profession. When I am not attending classes or working on homework, I can most likely be found either at the pool or the office because I am a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor, along with a Student Office Admin Support with the Ministry of Social Services. During my spare time, I enjoy watching This is Us, drinking coffee and tea, keeping active, spending time with my friends and family, and being up at the lake! One quote that I carry with me each day is one that says, you deserve to know the world, and it deserves to know you. This quote is words that I will carry with me into the future of when I am an educator because I believe it serves as such a strong example of how I will strive to have each of my students know that they are loved, worthy, and have such a vital purpose in this world.
