Wow - those are big teeth. Our ride through the dipper is one step closer to reality. We just need to build a rock/gravel ramp over some of those teeth. Dave, Duane and Jim with help from Jim Hartt on the welding got it done. We would like to thank Crowsnest Pass Quad Squad https://www.facebook.com/Crowsnest-Pass-Quad-Squad-589842127702245/?ref=page_internal for the use of their portable welding machine and also to Lanny on his skid steer who was in the area doing work for Fortis. Fortis will be replacing the power poles in Kids Corner - timing unknown but there will probably be some restrictions on access while this work is being done.

Our trail coordinator, Jim Lucas, has been representing us at the Recreation Advisory Group meetings with AEP. We would like to see the process made easier for building more sustainable, non motorized single track trail in public lands in a timely matter. We’re ready to build but have been on hold for two years while the government tries to figure out a better process. Please help us out and take the time to fill out the survey. https://www.alberta.ca/sustainable-outdoor-recreation-engag

Kids Corner Update: We would like to acknowledge the support and donations, both monetary and in-kind, that made the dipper move to Kids Corner possible: Teck that got the ball rolling, Komatsu which donated the dipper, PJB Crane Services and Manitoulin Transport for donations in-kind, and TC Energy. It has been a pleasure working with these companies and we appreciate their support and professionalism. Kids Corner-Dipper Day: Our final exhibit arrived today. This large bucket - a dipper - is from a long retired electric shovel that was used in a mining operation. Small by todays standards, it is still impressively large and will be the gateway to Kids Corner. The dipper has been donated by Komatsu, Sparwood and was loaded in their yard this morning starting at 8:30. The heavy lift and transport were on their way from Kids Corner by 12:30. Further details about who was involved in getting this to our site in a subsequent post. The inside of the dipper is quite slippery. Use caution if you enter. We will install non-slip flooring in due course.
