I’m a FAR FROM perfect parent! Trust me! Exhibit A: My son HATES personal hygiene... That includes bath time Hand washing Toothbrushing All of it. I’ve tried SO MANY Different. And read SO MANY parenting books! Nothing worked. At least not Until I tried this book here Today’s #JediMomTrick is about age-appropriate conversations with kids. C’est quoi un microbe? Translates to What are Germs? We read the book together. He lifted the flaps and his jaw-dropped He didn’t realize the reason WHY we had to do something so mundane like brushing our teeth everyday when there were much more interesting things to do with our time. #KidLogic There’s a page on bathroom germs, Mouth germs and even body germs! When I closed the book after reading it to him the first time he jumped off my lap and took off. Me: Where are you going Félix? 4 y/o: To brush off the icky germs from my teeth I couldn’t BELIEVE it! For the first time in WEEKS we didn’t have to argue about this! I used to think I could just make him do something by telling him to. Turns out, helping him understand it was the only way to do that: Conclusion: I cannot control anybody, not even my kids. Give them the tools and help them come up with the answers themselves!
