U.S. Kids Golf Niagara Local Rule Sheet Beechwood Golf & Social House Pace of Play:A player should play at a prompt pace throughout the Round. Rule 5.6b Each group has two options to stay on pace.... 1. Stay on pace with your time par that is on the bottom of your scorecard 2. Be within 14 minutes of the group in front of you If you are not on pace with your time par and you are not within 14 minutes of the group in front of you, you will receive a warning. A U.S. Kids rules official will then be timing you until you are back into position. Please remember that each participant has 40 seconds to hit their shot. The 40 seconds will start when it is free to play.(i.e. previous players ball comes to rest) If your group has been warned and you are getting timed taking over 40 seconds, you will receive a penalty of one stroke. Penalty Area PA’s will be marked with red or yellow markers. U.S. Kids markers may be used to mark these areas. All unmarked dense forested areas as well as all un-manicured long grass (fescue) are to be played as penalty areas. (area’s with visible marks of a lawnmower are not penalty areas, proceed under lost ball rule)The nearest manicured edge will determine the penalty area line if markers are not present or widely spaced. Players are given 3 minutes to look for their ball. After 3 minutes a player must put another ball in play and continue. See Rule 17 for relief options Lost Ball\Out of Bounds : OB is identified by white stakes or U.S. Kids White markers.. If a ball is lost or out of bounds, the player must take stroke-and-distance relief by adding one penalty stroke and continue play from where the previous stroke was made. Rule 18 Hydro Lines: Any ball striking hydro wires HAS TO be replayed without penalty. If a ball strikes hydro tower, it must be played as it lies. Abnormal Course Conditions ACC- Rule 16. A player may take relief from any abnormal course conditions. ACC are animal holes, ground under repair, immovable obstructions or temporary water. If an official is not present, use Rule 20.1c if there is a disagreement about ACC. Ground under repair relief will only be given in the fairway. Doubt as to procedure- Rule 20.1c A player who is uncertain about the right procedure while playing a hole may complete the hole with two balls without penalty. The player should choose which ball will count if the rules allow the procedure by announcing to another player before playing a stroke. Players must report the facts to the committee before returning the scorecard, even if the scores are the same. 10 Shot Rule A player shall take no more than 10 strokes on a hole. Once a score of 10 is reached, a player must pick up their ball and wait for the other players in the group to compete the hole.
