It's #InternationalMensDay and we're featuring yet another member of the CSE (an Academic Coaching Assistant this time!) on why he decided to work in student services: "Being involved with Higher-Education at CSE has made me realize the importance of responsibility and commitment towards others and myself. I chose to be involved as I wanted to assist the students with any challenges that they might face in their initial years at the university. Thus, being an academic coaching assistant gives me an opportunity to guide them to the numerous resources available on campus, which is more so important during online school!" - Manav Jailkhani

"My name is Lorenzo and my pronouns are he/him/his. Besides being a CSE Student Leader, I’m also part of NuMonic Hip Hop’s executive team. Through this position, I was able to collaborate with my team in the planning, execution and development of workshops, interest meetings and events, as well as run rehearsals and foster community both within our team, through collaborations with the UTM community, and with external partners across the Peel Region and the GTA. The CCR resou...rce helps us reflect about our roles and what we have gained, both personally and professionally. In my experience, I was able to reflect not only about what the team has accomplished, but also realize how I was impacted by improving my own skills, such as interpersonal, leadership and communication skills. The CCR component facilitates reflection about the role, which is useful when adding experiences to your resume and preparing for professional interviews." -Lorenzo It's the end of the CCR Takeover! If you have any questions about the CCR you can always send them our way or email [email protected] #WhyCCRMatters

"As a student leader, you want to see other students grow and develop their skillsets and CCR was one of the many ways of encouraging the student body to come out and engage with the UTM community. The Centre of Student Engagement offers a variety of events and I’ve attended quite a few that also happened to be CCR approved. By attending a handful of CCR approved events, applying to on-campus work-study positions got a lot more effective and efficient. As a UofT graduate stud...ent, I can vouch that CCR has helped me get more involved outside of the classroom and motivated me to network. Look for any events that have the CCR badge certificate, and I can guarantee you will get something valuable out of it." - Syeda Nudrat Zehra It's Day 5 of the CCR Takeover! Check out our story for more testimonies. #WhyCCRMatters
