Learn how coastal peoples are addressing the challenges of climate change in their communities and the transformative opportunity of moving beyond ‘Territorial Acknowledgments’ to action that is grounded in our relationship to the land and our shared responsibility to its restoration and stewardship. Facilitated by Jeff Corntassel (Cherokee Nation), Associate Professor with UVic’s Indigenous Studies Program. Are you a UVic student interested in helping your community while also gaining valuable tax knowledge? If so, sign up to be a volunteer for this year’s Free Virtual Tax Clinic, put on by the Gustavson School of Business in partnership with the CRA. Through this program, volunteers help the community by offering free tax filing services to those who are unable to do so themselves. This program is a great way to get involved and gain a variety of different skills along the way...! Every volunteer will participate in training sessions to become familiar with their roles and the tax filing software. The tax clinic will run from mid March to the end of April and once completed, you’ll receive a certificate of achievement! The deadline to apply is February 12th, 2021 https://www.surveymonkey.ca/r/Q6MJSRZ. Questions? Send us an email at [email protected]
