It is with a heavy heart that I inform all of you that fall semester Sunday club volleyball will not be resuming. Stay positive and we will be pushing to reopen in the spring. Be safe, be fit, be studious and most importantly, keep that volleyball passion burning

Some of you are asking, "Will there be volleyball this semester"? The answer is maybe...... (I know, thrilling). Here's the scoop. As we are a large gathering of bodies, we run the risk of transmitting the COVID-19 disease. The university is rightfully hesitant to open the gate on club activities. To demonstrate how we are able to safely play while minimizing risks, executive members have taken the initiative and created a return to play protocol for volleyball. This protoc...ol follows volleyball BC guidelines for the safest way for us to enjoy our favorite sport. Feel free to check out these guidelines in the link bellow. Our return to play protocol has been submitted to the University for review. A decision made by the University will conclude what our September season may include. It is with a heavy heart that I announce that we will not be running Sunday club. Volleyball is the second best thing in the world, unfortunately it is second to healthy living and the well being of the members. Because the effects of COVID-19 cannot be predicted we will operate on a week to week basis to see if Sunday club will run. I know many people do not follow this page who attend to club, so please spread the word to your fellow volleyball players.... Sorry all :(

Horner Park update: Graeme Galloway talked with a representative from Saanich Parks this week, about the Horner Park proposal. There has been some push-back from some neighbors about the beach volleyball courts, so right now the courts are at risk of being removed. Staff recommended that anyone who supports the courts writes in to Parks as a resident of Saanich or member of the community (not as a member of an organized group) to voice their support for keeping the courts in ...their proposal. Parks staff can't push for courts without being able to show there is support from the community, so every email counts. I encourage you to look through the concept and send an email to Parks voicing your support for the proposal, and highlight that the courts are important to you. You're a student, we're a club. I don't know about you but that sounds like a match made in heaven. Lets meet up like peanut butter and jam because some things just belong together.
