Mental health professionals sometimes prescribe mindfulness for stress management. And for some companies, it’s big business. Jeff Wilson, a professor at Renison University College and a member of the Religious Studies department in the Waterloo Faculty of Arts, discusses the changing face of mindfulness as well as its benefits. This course will deal with the period of the prophets, e.g., Joshua, Kings, and Samuel. It will examine the uses and abuses of power analyzing the historical narratives and study the conflict between Saul and David, the political as well as the moral rise and fall of David.
