One of Mary Lou’s most memorable moments of 2020 was the free food giveaway in Massey. The initiative was a powerful example of a community working together to address food security. I was proud to be a part of such a wonderful project that helped bring much needed supplies and good spirits to individuals and families in our community. #CRF #locallove

In early November #UWCNEO in partnership with Reliance Home Comfort and We the Bury announced an amazing initiative called Heat Your Heart Heat Your Home. The goal was to help two families in need by gifting them a new high-efficiency furnace. The submissions we received were heartfelt and sincere. Neighbours nominating neighbours, families rallying together in support of their loved ones, and others sharing personal stories of the struggles they experienced in 2020. We since...rely want to thank each and every person for participating. We are so excited to be able to introduce you to the families that will be receiving a brand-new furnace just in time for the holidays. Meet the Fortin family Pierre, Adriana, Maeva and baby Frederic, and the Van De Kraats family Cherie and Albert. As a community, being there for one another is a gift we can all give. For Shelley, our Communication Manager, a standout moment in 2020 was bringing a series of Seeing is Believing videos to life. It takes an entire community working together to address #UNIGNORABLE issues including food insecurity, domestic violence, and homelessness. Connecting our donors to the work they make possible day-in, day-out and the impact of that work is so very special. Not only does it provide us with the opportunity to learn more about the issues, it gives us an inside perspective of the amazing work that is happening locally to address these issues.

Our amazing regional manager Jennifer, with help of Ashley and Kelsey, has been very busy delivering reusable masks as part of the Mask Task Initiative in the Cochrane District.
