This Giving Tuesday, our Waterloo Eye Institute received $27,200 in donations, and together with Dr. Carol Cressman's match of $10,000, we also unlocked $5,000 from Dan and Tracey Langlois for the most dollars raised at the University of Waterloo! Ben Thompson of the School of Optometry & Vision Science and Rajkumar Raveendran from Envision Research Institute have found that a single session of non-invasive brain stimulation of the visual cortex can reduce the effects of "crowding', a phenomenon that patients with macular degeneration often experience. The discovery could eventually allow patients with macular degeneration to recover their vision. @HelpEnvision
