Happy holidays UW! It's the time of the year to look back at what we did in 2018. The elec team accomplished a lot this term! We assembled and tested SPI to CAN boards, had various tutorials, and designed+assembled custom Arduino unos for sensor testing. Our ongoing projects are: sensor breakout boards design, motor controller boards design ,and power distribution board redesign.... Happy holidays from the software team!! In the F18 term, the software team refocussed from algorithms planning to stabilizing system infrastructure. Starting from the bottom, we developed brand new firmware to accompany the elec team's new sensor and peripheral architecture. We also revamped the internal communications between the various sections of our codebase, improving reliability. Finally, we've begun the massive undertaking of rewriting our boat simulator, which will be a powerful tool to revamp our planning and vision algorithms using our improved data and architecture. Hey UW! Mechanical team began the development and improvement of various subsystems for the 2019 vessel, including the sail and rudder actuators, improved waterproof electronics enclosures and a new rig. In addition, the mechanical team conducted research into new tooling materials and layup processes for the production of composite parts. Thank you to all who came out and helped this term!
