We're expanding the park! And we need your help. Get involved with building Ontario's largest outdoor hard surface pump track. This project will get built but having you participate on the committee will ensure your voice is heard, contributing to the fundraising, design and construction. If getting involved in your community with a project that's endlessly fun, well see you at the information night on November 18th. Read below for an official statement. On Sept 14 of this... year, Stephen Snoddon of Uxbridge Rotary and Brent Lunn of the Uxbridge Optimists made a delegation to Council regarding the addition of a hard surface pump park, directly connected to the existing Uxbridge Rotary Skatepark. Steve and Brent explained that a hard-surface, multi-use, PumpPark would expand the appeal of the existing venue to a much larger demographic. A properly designed hard-surface PumpPark can provide a progressive, low-risk opportunity for fun, fitness and training, for people of all ages and skill levels. Council’s response to the idea was positive. The process of forming a Committee of Council to move forward with this project has begun. A public information evening is scheduled for the Arena Community Centre for November 18th from 7:00 til 9:00 p.m.. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the progression of the genre from early BMX parks to today’s state-of-the-art hard surface, multi-use PumpParks. Because the PumpPark project is a collaborative effort, it is important that the Committee of Council be representative of a wide range of future users of the facility and other members of the broader community. If you would like to learn more about this exciting new project; if you would like to have input into the parks’ planning and design, plan to attend the PumpPark Symposium on Nov 18th. The objective would be to have this facility directly connected to the Uxbridge Trail system.
