UZUME TAIKO INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL TAIKO DRUM WORKSHOP Take part in Canada’s largest public participation campaign for the arts! Celebrate arts, culture, and heritage in your community through free interactive events. This year’s celebrations are extended from September 25 to October 25, 2020. Watch a Virtual Uzume Taiko Drum Performance and Demonstration of DIY Drums, Drum Pads and Drumsticks. Gather DIY Drum Objects and Drumsticks from around the home.... Practice Taiko Drumming with the online videos. Participate in a live ZOOM Taiko Basic Drills Drum Lesson. A DIY Drum from home can be a plastic tub, bucket, tote bin, cardboard box, mixing bowl, or pot. Alternately a DIY Drum Pad can be placed on a desktop to soften the impact and sound. A pillow, folded blanket or towel, mouse pad, chair cushion and yoga mat can work as Drum Pads. DIY Drumsticks can be pencils, chopsticks, wooden spoons, plastic spatulas, or wood dowels. Join in a live ZOOM Taiko Basic Drills Drum Lesson led by Uzume Taiko drummers! Participate using your DIY Drum from home and a pair of DIY drumsticks. Happy Canada Day everyone! Check out some online performances to help our nation celebrate!! Here we are performing in our studio in Richmond bc with our friends Silk Road Music in our collaborations group ‘Silk and Skins’ hope you enjoy the show!! ... The City of Coquitlam will feature "Silk and Skins" a collaboration with Uzume Taiko and Silk Road Music on Canada Day, July 1 at 3:00 PM. Uzume Taiko Studio Classes have been postponed since March 17, 2020. The BC RESTART PLAN is now available and guides us how to reopen for business. We endeavour to follow the advice of our Public Health Officials and request all Students to follow this Safe Plan as we reopen for Classes on May 20, 2020: COVID-19 SAFE PLAN AT UZUME TAIKO STUDIO Stay at home if you're feeling ill - no exceptions Practice physical distancing... Clean your hands Cover your cough Wear a mask to protect others (optional) Class Enrollment: There will be a Maximum of 10 players per Session to ensure people can continue to respect physical distancing Taiko Basic Drills: Classes will focus on Individuals' techniques and drills so that players maintain physical distancing measures throughout the session. Register online at www.uzume.com. Limited Enrollment available. Classes will be kept to 10 students Maximum per Session. Students MUST receive Confirmation before attending Sessions.
