Traynor Bass Master (YBA-1) that was serviced and modified by V2 Amplification. The mod was based on the Soldano SLO high-gain setting but was tweaked to taste. Single channel with low- and high-sensitivity inputs, master volume (in place of Gain II), fat/tight switch (rear panel), and Depth knob (rear panel).
FS: V2 Caldera (kit version, but build in-house) In brief: - 30 watts from a pair of EL34s (fixed bias, dual bias adjust trim pots) - high-gain preamp design with switches for era (70s/80s), bite (3-position 'bright' switch that boosts mids as well as highs), punch (gain boost), clip ('soft' diode clipping for more distortion), and Fat (fine tune the bottom end). Preamp topology generally similar to Friedman.... - optional buffered effects loop. Configurations (all pre-built without loop): - chassis only, no tubes or cab: CAD$1,200 (USD$900) - chassis and tubes: CAD$1,375 (USD$1,025) - chassis, tubes, and cab: CAD$1,600 (USD$1,200) - add loop: CAD$100 (USD:$75)

Here is a JCM 800 combo that was modded for a more modern gain structure and put (up-side down) into a custom head shell.
A wonderfully intimate performance by Rob Lamothe today. The link below will start at the beginning of the last song (featuring Rob's V2 Vibe amp), but give it all a listen. And check out Rob Lamothe's FB page for more songs! https://youtu.be/Nbxjcmk8xJU?t=984
Rob Lamothe + Godin guitar + V2 Vibe amp = tonal heaven
FS - modified Traynor YBA-1 [1974] -- $1000 plus shipping The iconic Canadian YBA-1 is a great bass amp. This one has been updated to be a great guitar amp. Updating and maintenance:... - new 3-prong power cord. Ground switch and death cap removed. - Fragile and broken wires replaced - Undersized resistors (for the tube plates, mainly) replaced. - Original filter caps (which were essentially dead) replaced. - Noisy random grounding scheme reconfigured to be much quieter. Mods: - original "Bass Master" circuit was replaced with my own circuit based on my V2 Vibe amp, which is capable of 70s and early 80s distortion. Plexi-style dual gain controls still work. Vibe control added to go from low-gain (70s) to higher-gain (early 80s). - Master volume added. In the photos, the amp for sale is the one with the additional control in place of one of the "bright" inputs. The gut shot shows the new filter caps but not the final V2 Vibe circuit.
Caldera amp kit packed to survive some rough handling en route to its new owner.
