Before everyone starts asking, we have ZERO clue if we are opening up on the 16th according to Ford’s announcement today. We are trying to find more information, but right now we do not think Personal Services are going to be included in the reopening of Ontario. Non-essential retail is all they kept saying and all of the news outlets are giving contradicting explanations. Once we know, you’ll all know. -Mr. Watts

As a part of the corvid bird family, which includes crows, ravens are large black birds with brains relatively big for their size. However, one difference between ravens and crows (other than the raven’s larger size) is that ravens are more intelligent. Nonetheless, all members of the corvid family have been known to craft and use tools, plan for the future, barter, and even play games like hide-and-seek. Since we announced it on Cable 14’s The Hamilton Network tonight, our 5th Annual Holiday Donation Drive kicks off TOMORROW! We will be collecting toys, food, and new clothing to help out The Interval House again this year! Deadline is December 23, 2020. Starting tomorrow, we will be taking appointments until 9pm until January 31, 2021.

We are a non-essential service. We are well aware of this and daily we question why we should be open and possibly exposing ourselves to the pandemic. Friday’s announcement of Hamilton becoming a Covid Red Zone shed some light on our query. We are all being told to only travel to work, school, groceries, medical services, etc. (And we are on board with this) but, this then means people should not be coming to our shop to acquire our services. (Again, we support this)... Are we non-essential businesses having to remain open without responsibly acting clients in order to be denied any sort of assistance because we haven’t been officially told to close? This seems to be how it’s happening. So our choices are to either close up and risk permanent closure or continue to stay open and have to make ends meet by providing non-essential services to those who willfully will defy the conditions of the Red Zone? This won’t bode well for the personal service industry.

This also applies to ANY Personal Service! If you want us around tomorrow, you’ll need to help us today. Book now with our staff (even if you want to pay now and schedule for a post-Covid time) and help them to make it through these next couple months. Purchase gift cards! ...
