We hope you folks are enjoying your long weekend! We’re big fans of Monday’s that feel like Sunday. We’re also a big fan of our local community members who do so much to amplify our village and surrounding areas. A total of $13,050 of the funds #vcbe2019 raised stayed within the community of Valemount.... The festival donated $3400 each to the Valemount Elementary and Secondary schools’ Parental Advisory Committees to be used for programs supporting Valemount’s youth. The Royal Canadian Legion Valemount Branch #266 received $3125 to support the local community’s veteran support programs. The Valemount Volunteer Fire Department received $3125 to support our community’s volunteer firefighters. We really are grateful for each and every one of you, and we’re appreciative of the fact that we get to raise funds in such a fun and rewarding way! A fellow rider needs our help. One June 15, Chantelle Grafton badly damaged three vertebrae and her spinal cord in a mountain bike crash. There is a long road... to recovery ahead for Chantelle and her husband Warren and Valemount wants to help in any way we can. We are holding fundraiser to help with the current and future costs that the pair are dealing with. Any little bit of burden we can help relieve from them is important. We had a sticker custom made and we think it came out pretty rad. The direction given to the designer was that the sticker had to be bike related, spiritual and one that promotes healing and I think they nailed it. We hope to sell 120 of these limited-edition stickers for $50.00 a piece, but there is more... For each sticker sold, the purchaser will be entered into a draw for one of three amazing prizes. 1st Place Grand Prize - Brand new Del Sol Tradewinds Cruiser Bike purchased and donated by The Source Tree Service. 2nd ticket pulled - Custom made Mountain Bike themed fir pit donated by Peak Shuttles. 3rd ticket pulled - Three-hour summer photo session with Boosted Imagery. This is intended to be up on the trails, but the winner can use it within the Village limits as well. 4th ticket pulled - $200.00 worth of shuttle passes donated from Mostly Mental Shuttles Stickers can be purchased locally at Three Ranges Brewing (cash only) or the VARDA office. Alternatively, you can send an etransfer to [email protected] with your full contact info and mailing address and we will mail the sticker out to you. All proceeds after taxes paid on the sales will be handed over to the Grafton family.

This handsome horse named Skip is our next donation recipient. We presented Skip and Terry Nichols with a cheque for $5000 to take care of his expenses for the year! . Skip is an important part of the Equine Therapy program that is made possible by The Forge. . This year, the Sacrifice Red Veterans Support Society along with the vCBE were able to present Team Rubicon Canada with a cheque for $11,250! A little about them: Team Rubicon Canada (TRC) is a national disaster response charity that harnesses the potential of veterans and first responders to help communities prepare, respond and recover. They provide veterans and first responders who are no longer actively serving with another opportunity to utilize their skills where and wh...en they’re needed most. TRC has regional units called Disaster Response Units (DRUs) and have had a worldwide positive impact in disaster-affected communities.
