OSS Everyone! March 26 Workout Home Training ... Warm up - jog on the spot for 3-5min with random bursts for 10 seconds back to light jog for 10 seconds and repeat till time is up - 30 Jumping jacks - 30 push up planks - 30 sit-ups - 30 squats deep all the way down and slow up - Light stretch of arms/hip rotation/knee bends etc Basics Blocks - Agi uki / Soto uki / uchi uki /gidan bari with gakuziki ( use back leg to front for 10 switches then front leg back for 10 switches ( Each block done 10 times with reverse punch) Kicks - Front kicks 30 left/right 20 left/right 10 left/right - Side thrust kicks to the side from forward stance ( 10 per side for 4 sets Stance - kibadachi moving 3 steps to right/left side for 5-8 min ( keep same height level and focus on step across hint stay on same line - Kokutsadachi place hands on hips and lightly move squeezing half way up then back alternating. Do this for 5-8 min Focus on height and squeezing plus weight distribution Kata - Tekki Shodan 5 sets for those who know it all the way through - Hapoketi 5 sets Have fun and even experiment with the techniqus etc and self discover OSS! OSS! True karate ka are strong, and can withstand any storm... our truest JKA karate ka also stand on the side of whats best for family and their community.. .. So its with heavy heart, yet strong resolve that we will officially suspend classes at Valley Shidokan at this time. My hope is that all of our students will practice their karate at home in sweat and training..... but more importantly will practice their Karate by being the best version of themselves, to their fami...ly friends and community in this time of need. OSS!! Good evening everyone, hope the start of spring break is going good considering whats happening world wide. I would like to let everyone know that were taking precautions at the dojo to help everyone feel safe when coming to train. I personally have cleaned all door handles sinks light switches etc with disinfectant. We will be doing this on a daily basis plus also have members wash hands when arriving and leaving. We are keeping a close eye on the news for BC the... country and world on how everything is going. If you feel sick etc please do stay at home , I know as a karate-ka we always train through it sweat it out etc but with this virus lets not take any chances. The health and well being of us all is far greater than training as we can train anywhere OSS! Mike
