Horse Leasing Opportunities available for our VEC students! If you would like to lease a VEC lesson horse for January and/or February please contact Cheralyne this week, before she goes on Christmas holidays! A couple lesson horses are already spoken for, so do not wait! Leasing a lesson horse is a great way to get more riding time in, and, for those one day pursuing horse ownership, this is a low risk opportunity to see what owning a horse would be like for you! With not much happening this winter due to the effects of COVID, leasing a horse is a way to lift your spirits and have something to go do and look forward to!

Calling all VEC students! We are having a photo contest! There will be prizes to 10th place! Since Covid is preventing us from hosting a schooling show and Christmas party we have got creative and gone virtual! Here is how it will work: The most creative photo wins!... You have until November 20 to submit your photos to the VEC Facebook page. Photos must be of you with your lesson horse or if your own horses, your horse(s) at home! Lesson horse photos must be scheduled before, during, or after your scheduled lesson time. Speak to your instructor to schedule. Include in your entry your name, age, and horse’s name and a brief description of your creative photo! You may dress up yourself and your horse! Keep safety in mind for you and your horse. Jumping lesson group opening! Cross rail to 2’ group, every Wednesday at 3PM. Coach Cheralyne instructs this group. If you are at this level in your jumping journey contact us to book your spot!

Somebody new has joined our herd at VEC! Pebbles has given us a baby boy! His name is Licorice, and we love him. His bangs are the best.

Cheralyne will be gone on holidays from Sept 4-13th. All of Cheralyne’s lessons will be cancelled for that week and she will not be available to answer any messages. Here’s a gorgeous rainbow from last nights lessons!

Good day everyone!! VEC is working on scheduling for all of our students in lessons this fall. With that being said, we kindly ask that all of our students come prepared to lessons this week by knowing their schedule for fall. A little taste of some horse camp fun from this past week!

Ladies Harmony Riding Group - Aug 8th 9 am - 12 pm @ VEC 2.5 hour group riding lesson with potluck lunch and mealtime lecture/question period. I will be offering these one Saturday each month, each topic will be focused on continuing development of a light, trusting partnership between horse and rider. All disciplines and levels welcome. $60/day each participant must bring a potluck item. Lesson horses are available for an extra $10/day. ... Lesson Topic for Aug 8th: An introduction to developing self carriage - what is it and why is it important for your horse regardless of what discipline you ride. Developing lightness to the bit and teaching your horse to seek the bit (bitless welcome as well). We will then progress to begin developing shoulder control. Most horses lock up and carry their mental tension through their shoulders therefore unlocking the shoulder is a key component in creating a trusting partnership based on communication and lightness. Happy summer everyone! Here are some action shots from our first horse camp this year. We have started incorporating a new rider development program called Rookie Rider into our horse camps and lessons! It has been a big hit as it challenges the balance and strength of the rider!

Lessons are Back!!! Starting next week we will be taking on new clients in private or family grouping lessons. Following phase 3 and starting June 8 we will be open to regular group lessons. Summer horse camps also fit into the guidelines of phase 3, and the camps will run as scheduled. We will be taking extra precautions to abide by the rules of social distancing and hand sanitation.
