I can certainly get you in touch with all and any of our vendors, so you may be able to make your own arrangements to meet with them and/or buy from them directly.

Here's an important piece of information for those who miss their bread/veggies/jams etc. The Provincial Government has made changes to the Alberta Food Regulations. As of June 1, low-risk home-prepared foods are legal to sell from home! There are some requirements connected to that, but overall it makes things easier for our bakers, "jammers" and gardeners (even though veggies have always been legal to sell). So if you know what you want, get in touch with those vendors personally and ask them. You probably already figured it out: No Farmers' Market for us until further notice. After thinking long and hard and in light of what I learned from the webinars and phone conference, I feel that it is too much for me to take on mostly by myself. Our board has dwindled to very few members, and unfortunately they live far away. Even though the COVID-19 numbers are - thankfully - at zero currently in the MD of Greenview and the neighbouring MD's, we still have to follow the guidelines and be cautious, and to ensure that that happens takes more than one person. However: If you want to get involved, if the Farmers' Market is near and dear to your heart and you have ideas and time on your hands - please do get in touch!

Here's a quick update: Tomorrow I will be participating in a webinar where two representatives of Alberta Health will discuss the document "Guidance for Alberta Approved Farmers' Markets During COVID-19". I hope to get some clarifications on the many questions that I have regarding a possible re-opening. If you have questions, please let me know, I might be able to ask them.

Dear friends of the Valleyview Farmers' Market, it seems that things are looking up. In keeping with Alberta's safely staged relaunch plan, which may allow Farmers' Markets to re-open with ALL their vendors in Stage 1 after May 14, I am actively looking into our options.
