When this 2020 study compared treatment with acupuncture to a sham or usual care (lifestyle modifications), the acupuncture group had a significant reduction in number of migraine days. The effects from treatment also tended to start earlier and last longer than the other interventions. Patients also reported decreased pain and improved quality of life. So what does this mean?
