The documentary on Master Sheng Yen is being made available for 2 weeks from Dec. 20, 2020 8:00 am Jan. 3, 2021 8:00 am (PT). Keep an eye out for info about this. The link will be announced at 7:00 pm (PT) on 12/19, website & FB. More details have been upload on the website here.... https://www.chanmeditation.ca/index.php/upcoming-event/ This documentary portrays Master Sheng Yen’s turbulent life and times through his Dharma talks, journals, medical records, writings, photos and videos. The film unfolds on the streets of New York in 1979, relating the course of Master Sheng Yen’s life with 10-year chapters, including The Dying Fire of His Faith (1949), Second Ordination (1959), Leaving for Japan (1969), Chan Practice and Spreading the Dharma (1979), Founding the Dharma Drum Mountain (1989), Care for Life and Death (1999), and Master Sheng Yen’s Passing Away (2009). The film also features interviews from Master Sheng Yen’s disciples and his close friends sharing what they saw and learned from the master. Instead of a propagandist style seen in conventional religious films, the production aims to present the master’s extraordinary life with a straightforward, honest, modest, and matter of fact attitude, which is exactly the sentiment the world needs to embrace and say, Thus I have heard. Watch the official trailer now! Presented by: Sheng Yen Education Foundation, TSAY Ching-yen Produced by: CNEX Studio Corporation Executive Producer: TSAY Ching-yen, YANG Pei, Ben TSIANG, Ruby CHEN Director: CHANG Chao-wei Duration: 115 mins Language: Mandarin, English, Japanese / Subtitles: Traditional Chinese, English Screen Format: Widescreen 1.85:1 Full HD / Sound System: Dolby Digital 5.1

Happy BC Day! More photos from the garden, enjoy :) . . Bees, the best pollinator .... . Vancouver boasts unequalled possibilities to appreciate nature's wonders. From towering trees to bushes and herbs in the garden, a breathtaking variety of flowers abound. There's more to a vegetable garden than veggies. It's also home to vibrant flowers and their number one follower: bees. Voracious bees scour the garden without missing a single flower. Industrious worker bees can't wait to start working after a morning shower. Hats off to our little friends for lending a helping hand in the garden!

A Blueberry Harvest Since February 2018, DDVC's planted 160 blueberry bushes on top of the existing 200. In total, there are 15 (!) different species, each comes with their unique flowers, sizes, flavours, and fruit seasons: harvest stretching from late June to August. Hold it to your ear and hear the teeny berry sharing its odyssey. June 21, 2020 is the first time we literally tasted the fruits of our labour. We are grateful for everyone who made this happen, and for the bushes that remind us of the magnificence of living things, of life.
