In place of our usual live chiptune showcase, we've contributed a couple friends of ours to join the livestream of collectors and musicians. Hey everyone, We're reaching out to let you know that we have officially cancelled OVERFLOW#008 & the show will not be going ahead as planned. We'll be cancelling the show via Eventbrite and providing a full refund to anyone who's already purchased tickets. This is being done in accordance with the provincial government decree to not host gatherings of more than 50 folks as well as the Fox Cabaret closure that was announced yesterday. We understand some events are encouraging... folks to donate the cost of their tickets, but we've chosen to provide full refunds to everyone automatically as VCS is currently stable & doing fine financially. Hi all! We are still planning to have our ChipLabs #006: Chip Music Meetup - Show & Tell tomorrow as it's still a relatively small group of attendees. Regardless, here are some important health and logistics things to bear in mind! 1) The room will have hand sanitizer and wipes available, thanks to Tom Lee Music's existing precautionary measures. Once you arrive, please sanitize yourself (and any equipment you bring) appropriately. We'll also make sure our table/equipment... surfaces are disinfected, and will encourage regular hand-washing via Tom Lee's washrooms. 2) As these meetups are much smaller in scale, there will be plenty of opportunity to practice effective social distancing. If you haven't purchased a ticket though, please do so now so that we know how many people to expect! 3) Be mindful of your journey to the meetup - exercise safe and sanitary practices along the way. 4) If you feel you have any symptoms, feel under the weather, or are otherwise uncomfortable attending the meetup, don't feel bad about staying home! Refunds are available to all upon request. Let us know if you have any more questions / concerns! Just a reminder that the ChipLabs meetup is scheduled for next Saturday at Tom Lee Music Canada! We can only seat about 30 folks so to pick up a ticket to grab a seat! This next meetup is a Show & Tell where folks who dabble in chiptune can showcase what they're working on or share about their setup. If you're not a musician but still want to check it out, go for it! :P

ONE MORE THING - Our very own bryface will be opening for straight-up legends Anamanaguchi and Skylar Spence at their March 4th show at The Biltmore Cabaret!! We're flabbergasted and you definitely are not going to want to miss this insane lineup. Tickets are almost sold out!

Hot off the heels of BashFest next weekend - if your musical tastes veer into VGM territory as well, our friend and merch guy Graham is putting on a VGM DJ showcase! Tuesday Feb 25th at the Red Gate Arts Society. We're STILL not done yet with event announcements.

Next weekend, a few friends of OVERFLOW - renowned game composer Danny Baranowsky, transcriber/DJ Jewel Maiden Music and curator bryface - will be performing along with gaming bands The Runaway Four, The Wavebirds and The Squares at this event combining e-sports and gaming-related music (thanks to the efforts of MAGFest and The Gaming Stadium). Try your hand at some of the tournaments AND/OR just come vibe with us next weekend!!

Happy New Year! Just wanted to let you know that the gears have in fact been turning on our end this past winter: - We have at least 3 editions of OVERFLOW planned for the year! we've got some big acts that we're currently in the middle of locking down. - We're planning on bringing back ChipLabs (our chiptune workshops), but it will be taking the form of more regular, community-focused meetups throughout the year. We know a lot of you are immensely talented (or are just cu...rious about how the chip sausage is made!), and we want to provide more opportunities for us all to hang, geek out and share what we're working on in a chill, low-pressure setting. - We're planning on making appearances at events like Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo - plus a couple of other similar types of events both within and beyond Vancouver! More details on all of the above are coming soon! Stay tuned.
