Craw’s Racing’s, Wyatt Kubicke, took this image tonight from the top of the Bristol Dragway tower. These are the junior dragster racers that will age out from this sport at the end of this year. This is an annual photo shoot at this race by the event photographer.

Summer Update PROGRESS CONTINUES! Homalco First Nation has given a letter to the City supporting our project at the airport. The City has engaged a lawyer to define the meaning of for airport purposes wording that is in the Crown Grant that gave the airport land to the City. We’re working with the City on the Drag Racing Facility Select Committee to find and evaluate land options for a potential drag racing facility in the Campbell River area. We are looking at three ...potential sites (including the airport). The committee is chaired by Councillor Charlie Cornfield. The other members are Councillor Kermit Dahl, Kris Mailman of Seymour Pacific Developments, Dan Wickham retired lawyer and VIMSA member, and me, Jim Johnson representing VIMSA. The City and Regional District are helping with property info and facilitating meetings. VIMSA is committed to getting a permanent drag racing facility on the Island. Come and see us at Wings & Wheels, Sunday at the Campbell River Airport. See more
