Emmanuel Para in Action (red belt) He represented our Vancouver Martial Arts Academy at the Karate Golden League Tournament. First place at his 10/11 years boys category. Congratulation.
Memory from the past:
New Zealand's triathlete Britta Martin - a Usana associate has won the Challenge Taiwan Triathlon. Congratulation!
Alicia (with blue belt) also get a third place at the Zone 5 Karate BC Qualification. This was her first ever competition. Lots of emotions and a little hesitation, which is normal for the first time. By introducing our athletes to competition, our goal @ the Vancouver Martial Arts Accademy was to gain experience, make new friends and learn to LOSE, without hard feelings. But we qualified for the Karate BC Provincial Championship (May 31-June 01) and we will be there to gain even more experience.
Great memories from 2014
Our 4 "High Performances" competitors at the Zone 5 Karate BC: From Left to Right: Michael (9yrs), Emanuel (10yrs), Alicia (11yrs) and Lara (7yrs) And their supporters Marina (left) and Cora (right). On top coach Mario (left) and coach Josh (right) from Vancouver Martial Arts Academy.

Lara Schiopu - 7 years (competing with the Blue Belt) - Her First Official Kumite (Fight) Competition She Qualified (First Place) for the Karate BC Provincial Championship (May 31, 2014). I was impressed about her performances, and energy, (as she was a little shy at the beginning) Great experience and positive results.
Lara represented Vancouver Martial Arts Academy and placed first at her group age. In fact Lara (7 years) competed in the 8/9 years category. All participating ...girls were well trained, active and challenging. Thank you all for your participation, and thank you Matt Bickel abd Sandeep Gill for their organization. We all have had fun. Karate Friendship Championship pictures updates: 1. Emmanuel and Lara - First Place on their group age 2. Michael Gogoescu (left) with Lara and Emanuel. Michael... lost his fight by referees decision. His fight was a tight 0-0. Congratulation Michael. Those kids are all beginners with only 3-6 month of training experience. 3. Me with the participants: I am proud of our team who represent our Vancouver Maa. You kids are amazing! 4. Some videoclips will follow soon.
