Happy holidays from Satokai Karate! At Christmas we sat down for an informal Zoom interview with Soke Sato and asked for some of his reflections on this past year. We hope this brings some cheer. It has been a difficult year for all of us, and we want to thank everyone who has continued to support our organization and annual tournament. Stay safe and healthy everyone ... #karate #karatebc #shitoryukarate
Sato Cup "medals" and certificates have been sent! Please be sure to check your spam mail boxes as we have already received reports of them ending up there. Thanks again to our amazing participants!! And thank you to Kevin White for designing our e-medals!

Sato Cup 2020 is in the books!! Thanks again to everyone for bearing with us as we sorted through technical issues. Our first e-tournament was a huge learning experience for everyone. One upside to holding an e-tournament was being able to host participants who might normally not make our tournament. Our final count was 38 dojos from across 9 countries! ... We thoroughly enjoyed watching all of you in your dojos, backyards, rooftops, living rooms, garages, parking lots and basements. A pandemic might take us out of the dojo, but the karate spirit remains strong. Thank you to all of our participants, donors and volunteers. We hope to see you all in-person in the near future!
Tournament results are up! We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to our amazing group of dedicated, talented officials. This year they joined us on their phones and computers from across provincial and international borders. Without their expertise, the tournament would not have been possible. You can find the results on our website: ... http://www.shitoryu.net/sato-cup-2020-results/ See more

We have seen the cancellation of many events in the past few months, but the karate spirit persists! This year, our annual Sato Cup will be held in a kata-only, online format that will continue to showcase our international competitors. Registration is limited! More details to come.
It has been over 2 months and 30 online Zoom lessons since we last set foot in the dojo, but we are back! Classes only run once a week and numbers are limited due to physical distancing rules, so we ask anyone wishing to attend to please message and reserve a spot ahead of time. As always, we remind everyone to practice safe distancing, wash your hands and not attend class if you are experiencing any Covid symptoms. See you soon!
