Hello patients! I’ve missed you! I’ve hardly slept for the last few weeks. Lots of information to go through and planning! I’ve heard from many of you and I think I have a working knowledge of your needs at this time. You’ve all been very patient and understanding and I’m happy you’ve upped your home care . We’ve managed to flatten the curve in BC for now, however Covid19 is still out there and will be for many more months, if not years until there is a vaccine. With this i...n mind, my safety requirements will exceed those in the guidelines provided on May 15th by our regulatory bodies, but the procurement and implementation of these safety equipment and measures will require more time. Sadly, I will not open on May 19th. I also want to emphasize, that even when I do open, Dentistry will not be business as usual. Even now, the use of drills, cleaning your teeth equipment, air etc will very much be limited due to the risk of aerosol generation. For patients, in most cases, it will be deemed safer to stay at home when possible. But for those who have been waiting and wanting treatment, I am working very hard to make that happen. Open What’s new for our patients who are receiving in office care? Lots! Pre-screening, mask on, temperature check, hand sanitizer, new digital extra oral xray system (no film in your mouth), pre-procedural rinces, UV air filters, extra-oral suctions, no overlap of our patients and office exterior doors kept locked. My team and I (and every other dental care provider) have everyone’s safety in mind. We are taking our temperatures each morning, consistently wearing PPE’s in your presence, practicing physical distancing and practicing extreme hand hygiene. We are communicating with each other and we are communicating with you. Hello everyone! Trying to re-enter "phase 2 Covid 19 life" has been interesting! One thing everyone should own is a washable re-usable mask! So if you haven't already..GET YOUR MASK! It doesn't have to be fancy, even a paper napkin can be used on the fly, as this YouTube video demonstrates. Lots of no sew versions on Youtube available as well. Always carry your mask when you step out and wear it especially when you can not maintain a distance of 2 meters from those outside yo...ur social bubble. A mask will help remind you to not touch your face, will help block your nose and mouth if you do and will keep your droplets away from others (think cough or sneeze). You just have to remember to not touch or rub your eyes, wash your hands frequently and try not to touch anything period (not easy, I know!). I will be asking all my patients to come to their dental visits with their mask on to keep yourself (and others) as safe a possible as you travel. Once you arrive To your dental appointment, there will be a list of precautionary measures done and we will go from there (more info to come)! So get your mask and wear it!
